My favourite VST to use is Omnisphere. In the same sense that my favorite organ to use is the dick. The one I use most often is Guitar Rig.

Nexus 2, Zeta and Massive are my main go to VSTs.

I will be purchasing Sylenth1 next week too

I'm really looking for one with great strings...

I am favorite VST? (hurrhurrhurrhurr)

No in all seriousness, I mostly use 3xosc as well. I just like the way I can work with it and the possibilities. For sub-bass I mostly use Sytrus.

fuck external VST's.

Main VST's would be Massive and Sylenth1. Other cool ones are tweakbench's assortment of free vst's which are amazing!

For VSTi's, I am definitely split between Synth1 and Superwave P8. P8 is all around decent for making anything between a cool lead and a noisy scratchy sound for 8-bit. It can even be ok for dubstep noises if you pass it through something like TAL-BitCrusher, which is also amazing. Synth1 is great for making arpegged sounds and trance. For drums, I'm DR-Fusion V2 all the way; it's simple, and you can use samples in it - to a limited degree. There is this synth called VOPM that can make some really nice chime-like sounds and probably more (if you can figure out how to use it).

For VST's, TAL-BitCrusher for downsampling and Reverbering for reverb. That's all I use at the moment.
Anything else is MIDI instruments or DirectX plugins.

I would use the free version of UVI Workstation as well, but I'd have to sample from it as it doesn't interface with ModPlug.
