I'm seeing stuff like "hockey stars" and "Punch-out preview" get blammed. These were actually done pretty well, if a 5 second animation of a brick hitting a pumpkin got passed these should have been too. Stop being stupid and voting 0 because the first 2 seconds have no sound or because it says "preview". It's moronic and can get you reset

This post being started by someone who has 116 blams in just 5 days... but damn it if I don't agree with him. I liked hockey stars, and I know plenty of movies/games that have been blammed before their time. I'd have many more saves right now if I did...
I just had to get my two cents in before this topic got locked. Do a search and you'd see that something like this is posted about once a week or so...

Before I blam something that is not a crap, i check the author profile, for example if he has a batting average of1.70, and he's new submission sucks than I can blam it.

Wait... so are you saying that if someone has a batting average of, say, 3.57 and their new submission sucks you wouldn't blam it? It's people like you that allow crap movies to get through! If the movie's bad, blam it... and if it's good, protect it! Batting average should not matter. Not if you watch a movie without blamming it as soon as it loads just because they are new or have a low batting average.

when I save a movie, ofcourse fisrt of all its because its good, but if the author have 20 movies, batting average of 3.80, and his new attemp is a continue to his last series... than i don't need to watch it to save it.

previews belong in the ALPHAS section, not the Portal.

Okay really it's not hard to watch first. In fact it involves effortless sitting in front of your screen. Sure it's more likely that authors with low batting averages will submit bad movies and vice versa, but tht isn't set in stone. Just watch first, it's not hard.

You cant tell people what to do. If a bunch of arseholes decide to vote low and blam something worthshile, whilst the same people vote high on fucking pube muppit or "fun things" movies I guess thats just the way things go. Sure its fucked but you cant police it.

Most of the crap you've seen pass was probably uploaded before 2003. I've looked through some of the stuff between '03 and '04, and the level of quality flash shot up. It's really not too weird.

I voted to Blam the Punch Out preview first time around, I just didn't like it. But he resubmitted and it seemed more polished to me so he got my vote towards protection.
My voting habbits aside, nobody is obligated to vote high on a movie just because it is well done in terms of graphics or coherency. I've seen my roomate voting to Blam movies that I vote to protect just because he disagrees with the movie's message or content, regardless of how good it looks or sounds.

Yeah but you can get your experience reset for it. That mostly just happens if 50% or more of your votes are 0's though. Still you at least gave it a chance so I'm not talking about you, I'm talking about fuckwits who vote based on the title or the first few seconds of the movie. Or people who vote 5 just because the author has an A+ average, even if the movie sucks.
