Monthly voting time... Feb. 27th, 2012 @ 08:07 PM Reply

... I know it's not until Thursday morning this month, but things got cut off this month due to the redesign and that page not being ready for you guys. So, here's a heads up - there's a new script handling that stuff when it gets to it.

You basically have a couple of big lists on the right hand side of the page (games and movies). They're ordered alphabetically. There's a panel on your right. You drag the entries you like from the right to the left. You can then order them around before you submit. It's still not cosmetically right IMO, but it'll be at least work and should be a hell of a lot easier to use than the horrible old system... speaking of which, anyone got a screenshot of that? I just scrapped the old code and started over.

Screenshot attached, the missing icon is one I'm rolling over. Hopefully it'll make it easier for you guys to select your choices, let me know when you get the chance to use it.

P.s. the pod on the left follows the scroll of the page.

No.

Same as before, click your account settings, it'll show up there. It probably should show up as a notification, but I hadn't even thought about that.

So how do we know if we are elligible; in other words, what qualifies someone to be allowed for Monthly Voting.

It used to be top #2,000 exp users but they've expanded that a bit beyond.

When the hell does the monthly voting happen, anyway? A little indication as to exactly when would be totes appreciated. I usually stumble across it by accident when someone else pipes up that they voted.

Global or normal Experience. Because I'm nearly 2000 in Global but way high on the list (like 60,000) for users in regular Experience points/stat.

It's the top #10,000 ACTIVE users experience wise - someone ranked much higher than you in the month might not have deposited their experience and you might make take their place. Just make sure you deposit your experience before the end of Feb and you might be in the running (doubt it, but it's worth a shot).

Ah thanks for the info. I doubt I will be able to vote this month too, but that's ok. I will just keep depositing until I can.

Other than the green and red, I don't see any differences - what're you getting at?

He is commenting on the lack of information about monthly voting. The green refers to where he thinks it could be mentioned, the red refers to where it is mentioned. He's saying that nobody knows it's happening.

I think...

That would make perfect sense if it didn't already show up when it is monthly voting (which it does).

Ok, thanks.

One of the reasons I never vote is because I usually forget about it, and I rarely go to account settings because, well ...everything is already set. I do check notifications daily though, so, yeah... would be nice if it showed up there.

Seems like it'll work out pretty nicely. Can't wait to see it in action.

Notification thing is a really good idea!

I forget to vote at least 11 out of 12 months, every year.

I don't really like that I have to fill the whole box before being able to submit, I don't really watch a whole lot of movies or play a whole lot of games. But I suppose that probably means I shouldn't be voting anyway, which I actually usually don't, for that very reason.
Also, there needs to be a way to drag things out of the box, rather than that "revert choices" button. I don't want to delete all of my choices, just one.

Better, but still not good enough, Femininely-Poussin.

Feminiely is an adverb. Manly, as used in his name, is an adjective. You should have said Feminine-Poussin.

I stuck trash cans in over the selections so you can get rid of them one by one if you want.

Jimbo, I couldn't find enough pony related submissions to fill in the top ten. Be sure to make room for more of them next time alright?

Thanks you're a dear~

I like it a lot! Definitely a whole lot easier than the old system and being able to change the order once i'd chosen all 10 was very useful.
