Kanda is just fucking awesome, a few of us went there last year. Plus, if you don't like sushis, there's still a ton of good stuff you can fill your tummy with.

It's probably a flat rate, so the more we are, the less it'll cost. I imagine 400-600$ for the night? I'm not sure.
So that might come to 20-30+ per person. Might not be worth it.

SO
Whats this thing usually like?
Boy/girl ratio? Any attractive females? Any funny and ridiculously fucked up (in hialrious ways) guys?
Basically is this just a gathering of internet recluses or actual interesting people that have funny jokes and/or big tities?

Went to the Chinese buffet to check it out, it was standard Chinese buffet fare but it does have lots of room, costs like 15$ and it's close to the Karaoke place.

It'd be a good place to reserve at so we meet up before Karaoke. If we want to do that. And if people don't say anything within a couple days then we're doing this stuff ANYWAY. Fewls.

I'm still a maybe for the whole ordeal. As mentioned, i have a wedding i have to goto on that following monday and im one of the groomsmen or whatever. Not sure why they hold a wedding on a monday but it is what it is. So I might have dress rehearsal or whatever that particular weekend and it might not be something I can blow off, that and it'll be cutting it really tight as the wedding isnt in philadelphia. I'll know soon enough.

If i cant go then ill goto the Calgary meat and will get my fix on canada then.

Like I said earlier, we can also go to Kanda. It's about 22$, but the quality of the food is way better than the usual Chinese buffet fare. You can't over-order or you have to pay for anything left behind and it is a bit further to the karaoke place (but right next to Square Phillip, in case someone stays at that hotel again).

Ok, so, sorry, to become political all of a sudden, but because of all the commotion caused by the student protest movement here in Quebec, the government just adopted a law to render illegal any group of more than 10 people unless we give our itinerary to operating police squads.

Might become a bit of an issue.

Call the authorities! The internet people are here! I'll be sure to call the cops a week in advance to make sure we don't get arrested.

We wont. If the law worked like you guys think it does, you'd get arrested for taking the bus or the subway.

Seeing how 3 entire buses were arrested on the highway on their way to Victoriaville and Gatineau manifestations for no other reasons than "preventive arrestations", it's not half wrong... :P

I was also arrested for wearing the red square, so seriously, watch your back.

im gonna go ahead and duck out of this event this time, the civil unrest and mostly the fact i have a wedding to goto that weekend make it too much ordeal. ill continue upkeeping the hub and stuff as needed. Have fun, jerks.

Well, I do live in Montreal, and although I don't know anyone on New grounds, I'd love to join you guys if you go to Laser Quest.

Also, if you go to the Kanda, I'd recommand you chose the one on Bishop Street, not the one on Sainte Cathrine neer Sq Philipps. This one has a dodgy kitchen.

How so? I've been going to that one for years and never had any problems...

What about Pox's Brazilian Meat Orgasm? I'm down for that. For 45$, I hope you get half a cow and get to keep the sword they serve it to you with.

I'm not doing that and, from what I've been told, it's not worth the price...

I've found a few formal complaints a few months back when the city opened publicly the database for all health vioaltion by restaurants, and they had 2 or 3, whereas the one on Bishop didn't. I'll see if I can find it again.

Well, I never really cared about Newgrounds events until recently. I lost interest in flash for quite a while and recently got back.

The Montreal 5 (minus one) just met to discuss the events of this year's meet and here are the results :

FRIDAY JUNE 8TH

1PM : BEERFEST

For those of you who will show up early at this meet, you're in luck. The Montreal Beerfestwill be in full swing! The plan is to meet at the Bonaventure metro station (orange line) at 1 PM. Just stay in the middle of the station (right after the turnstiles) so we can spot you as easily as possible. The place is free of entry, but you will need to buy tickets to get some booze (so try to show up with some cash, they don't take credit cards).

5PM : PEEL STATION (GREEN LINE)

Afterwards, you will have 2 options for dinner. Either you go the sushi/asian way of Kanda (an all you can eat sushi and asian food place for about 25$) or go with Pox for a more traditionnal meal (TBD). Either way, we meet at Peel station (Green line), in the middle of the stations BEFORE passing the turnstiles.

8 PM : DRUNK BOWLING

We will end the night at AMC FORUM's bowling lanes and bar. For those of you who will get there late, we will be waiting for you at ATWATER station (Green line) in the middle of the station (AFTER the turnstile) at 8. If you don't see us, just call me (PM me and I will send you my phone number).

SATURDAY JUNE 9TH

2 PM : OLD PORT AND STAR WARS EXHIBIT

On the next day, we will meet at 2 PM at the CHAMP-DE-MARS station (orange line, meet right before the turnstile) to head out the Old Port, one of the most beautiful and touristic zones of Montreal. There's a lot of things to do down there, but for nerds, the main attraction would be the Star Wars Identities exhibit at the Montreal Science Center. Admission is 11,50$.

5 PM : MCLEAN'S PUB (1210 Peel Street)

For dinner, let's go to an irish pub for some fast food. We will meet you guys directly at the bar, which is close to the PEEL station (green line). There's a lot of other restaurants in the area if you feel like eating something different.

7 PM : LA BOÃZTE ÃEU KARAOKÃo/oo (2071 St-Catherine's St. W)

This is always the high note of the Montreal meet. 20$ for a 4 liters pitcher of beer, people making fools out of themselves on stage, it's a good proof of how we haven't advanced much as a society in the last 100 years :D Quite entertaining though! Show early though, or else you'll be stuck with a very shitty place on the table.

FRIDAY JUNE 10TH

FREE DAY

Not much usually happens on this day, so you're free to do as you will. A lot of people usually organize something the day before, like a visit to the Biodome.

This is not a definitive schedule, but mostly a suggestion of things we should do. Some other activities we did in the past are still on the table, but need reservations (LaserQuest), so if you'd be interested, say it now and send the money ASAP so we can take care of it. We will not take the risk of doing approximative reservations and either lose money or see people waiting for us because of a lack of response.

PEACE OUT.
