What's funny is, if its 3 days for each verse and eveyrbody takes all three days then... shouldnt both rounds together be only 24 days?
My math may be wrong, you gotta remember, I'm a redneck honkey :P

I think you're right, but round 1 takes forever because of preround. Anything else should be 24 days at max. This tourney could last a while.
CLABTRAP Competition 2012 - Chainsaw vs Flip Point
Two more battles to go! I'm going to PM people to vote on those two battles the moment they're uploaded, within a day or so of uploading I will announce the next winners of this round. I'll tell you guys the date a few days before.

I meant theres 3 days for each verse. 4 verses. = 12 Days. Pre-Round,1stRound=24 Days. Lets say Red waits a day to upload the battles. = 26 days. So all battles should be released about now.
However, FatBum Timmy apparently had a legitimate reason to take longer than his 3 days so I guess we should only be waiting on him.
Ok, and general discussion time, I'll keep this in mind for next year.
In this first round, if you haven't noticed, I'm flexible on deadlines. I say three days, but if someone pushes it I'll usually accept it a bit late. Thing is, a lot of people haven't been in my comps before and if I was super strict I would end up DQing half the comp. The deadlines get more strict as we get into higher rounds.
What do you guys thing about this? Would you rather a quicker first round with a pile of DQs, or would you rather it take a bit longer but have more battles actually happen? I've always wanted to hear the battles happen, but next year I'm expecting the number of MCs to increase and at that point we can DQ half the people and still have a dope tournament. Thoughts?

Honestly, its hard to have it to fair when the first battle has had nearly a month to be voted on while the last one may have a few days lol. That isn't a huge deal though.
I only mention the deadline thing cause if I had known I could've pushed it to like 4 days for each verse, I would've had more time to record and made my verses sound better lol.
Keep in mind that after the first round I am not flexible, I will note the time that I sent the verse and give you 72 hours from there. I'm also less likely to accept extension requests made during those three days, MCs who have something preventing them from recording should tell me about it beforehand.

Fine with me, we've had enough time to know who we may or may not be facing and more than enough time to think about what we're gonna say. We shouldn't need more than 3 days, in my opinion. The first round, we just kind of get thrown into it all, like when I found out I was vs'ing Rav, my day 1 was already almost gone lol.

I agree. It really doesn't take long to put a 16 bar verse together.
I personally would rather the comp take a bit longer and actually get to hear the battles. I mean, we've all got lives outside of this to occupy ourselves in the meantime (I assume). It's just a matter of patience.
I think the rules now are pretty good, but if there's ever money involved, I'd say you gotta be more strict.
But if the rules are the rules, and someone can't put together 16 bars in 3 days (that's 3 HOURS per 5-10 WORDS, LOL) then they probably need to practice first.

Now I'm not one to dispute reviews, but for the love of god, BigRed, can you tell this kid to shut his fucking lips?
From my battle with Richard
Yes Red be more strict with the time allowed. Especially if they haven't given a request for an extension in advance.
Punctuality is important.
All this civil talking and being friendly with each other makes me sick.

You fucking asshole. Go jump in a fire and leak crusty pus from your orifices.
It's funny, I can't understand why anyone'd need 3 days, unless there are only certain days in the week you can get your verse on record. In fact, I don't get why anyone'd want it. After like 30 minutes of good lyricism, I just completely lose the aggression needed to write decent punches. I mean, I took three days to get a verse done with FB just because I can't get to recording equipment on the weekend, but me and Ob did our battle in 48 hours flat, and I'd say we hit dat thing hard.
How do you guys do your writing? Does anyone need 3 days for the lyrics?

No, everyone writes their lyrics within an hour.... but some of us are self-aware enough to realize if our first draft is weak and use the extra time to do rewrites.

Putting the finishing touches on it, then sending it for mastering and distribution. I do have a couple of songs on iTunes, Rhapsody, Google Music, etc. My City and The Second Coming (feat. Armageddon formerly of the Terror Squad). Anyway, I'll keep everyone posted when the album is finished. Unfortunately, I'm waiting on one person's vocals to send it off for mastering. Which sucks, because I don't want to drop the song just to finish the album.
