My screen is somewhat small so I can't actually see past the borders, however when I did I found the image to be suggestive and abit stupid. Whats directly above is okay, but whats to the right....

For all the laymen in here i'll put it this way, smoking, not bad but the image itself. Stealing a quote here "the image isn't safe in a place unless it has a testosterone level of %100."
If a relative or my mom were to see that page the last thing I want is for them to start asking questions. The image should be cool and neat but still E rated, you know LIKE EVERY OTHER GOD DAMN PAGE ON THIS SITE. At the very least get rid of the girl but keep the graffiti.

The site's background is fine. It's tacky.It's cool. It's something different. I know some people don't like smoking, but it's just a picture that's meant to be funny. If you didn't already notice, there is a "no smoking" sign on the top left corner of the site. The fact that the cute redhead is breaking the rules by smoking kind of defnes Newgrounds in a way. It's a site that's meant to question the status quo and be a little bit different. Newgrounds is userbased site that lets users decide and vote for what they want to keep on the site. Sometimes you get the haters that just rate every submission with a "0", but they're usually just trolls who don't stay on the site long enough to get a high batting average so it doesn't make much of a difference.
Who knows, maybe Newgrounds will make a poll that lets the Newgrounders decide on if they want to keep the "smoking" background. But hey,Tom and the rest of the group might eventually change the background, but for now it's fine. It's got the orange colour scheme of the old site and the other site pages are colour coded accordingly. And besides, they underwent extreme site maintenence just days ago to bring you that "smoking" background along with the rest of the nifty little changes.
Lastly, if you don't like smoking, maybe you should start a "Non Smokers" club. That might help you agonize over these site chages better.

We're not changing the background just because your mom saw it and flipped out...besides, who gives a shit if we smoke? How does it affect you? Stop trying to ruin everybody elses lives by bettering yours, get out troll.

I agree fully! A more customizable Newgrounds would be great! Like choose your favorite Newgrounds character! Like one person might want the current background, when another might want one with Pico or Dad or P-bot! Imagine how awesome that would be! Come on Tom! Let it be so!

I like it and never thought about smoking until I read this thread.
And I still don't care.

Suggestion, OP: If you care about it that much, write a petition, collect user signatures for said petition, and send it to Egoraptor and the staff. I bet he could edit out the cigarettes in five minutes or less.

On the background there's a sign that says "no smoking". Besides, this is Newgrounds. Kids shouldn't even be here.
