I rarely eat hotdogs to be honest and it doesn't really seem like a kind of snack with which you can do much. Generally I just put ketchup, mayonnaise or a mustard-ish sauce on them and that's about it. I guess some (fried) onions might improve it, but I can't think of anything else that would really taste great on a hotdog. I generally don't like sauerkraut so that's out of the question for me.
I do like hotdogs, but personally I'm a bigger fan of burgers. You can add a lot more different flavours to them by mixing ingredients and everything.

Anything not sauce based really. Sauerkraut, onions, spicy banana peppers, chilli, cheese, again as long as it's not sauce based I'll generally throw it on.
