He has no actual origin story to speak of and even he doesn't know what it is; he always lies about it and comes up with a different story each time, additionally, the supposed Bizarro Joker is a sad, depressed and droopy, someone who from our universe could relate to and understand, a complete polar opposite to the actual Joker. So it's up to debate as to whether or not he is from Bizarro world.
Is it possible that regular Joker is actually Bizarro Joker?
The joker was originally a criminal who when cornered by the cops or batman (can't remember) in a chemical factory fell into a bat of shit and his skin was made pale, his hair bleached green and the shock of it all sent him loco. Wikipedia it.

I've never seen him around.....
I am a hilarious man...

That's from the Golden age continuity; not the current one.

I highly doubt they would write him off as from bizarro world. That's not dark and edgey enough for DC anymore.

He was doing a Pepsi commercial, and the special effects caught his hair and face on fire, then he turned white.
Oh, wait, that was Michael Jackson.

In the 1989 version of the movie Batman, they did a good job of describing it.You got it mostly right.
I found another version of the origin story that actually describes it alot better and in fuller detail.

What do you mean "HAVE"? They ARE different.
I like the idea that the Joker can see through or at least sense the 4th wall. If you knew your entire world was a construction, one in which you were destined to lose again and again, it'd make you a little crazy right?
If you're referring to Heath Ledger's Joker from The Dark Night, there's nothing pale about his face. It's facepaint he wears. You can tell because when he goes to assassinate Gordon, he looks normal in his disguise (other than the scars).
Also, SCIENCE.
If you read "The Killing Joke" it should explain a lot of things about the Joker's origin. However, it's supposed to be read as if the Joker is telling his own back story so it's not necessarily cannon (since the Joker is very capable of lying).

The movies are non canon with the comic books; I'm referring to the comic books.

Technically, that would be Modern Age continuity (The Killing Joke was published in 1988) and it's still part of the current DC Universe continuity.
I'm not sure Joker always lies about his origin, I prefer to think that he doesn't know, or how he remembers it always changes.
Regardless, I don't want to know how The Joker came about. I find not knowing really adds to his character.
illicit makes a damn good signature.
The Joker is a human crook who fell in a vat of toxic chemincals durring an ecounter with Batman. He's devoid of reason because the incident drove him mad. If you knew anything about the Batman comics, you would know that.

Again, that's the golden age origin story, as in, non canon with current age Batman series; they changed his origin story from what you described to nothing.

It's not golden age, it's modern age. The origin of the Joker was never discussed until The Killing Joke, that was published in 1988. And it's still canon with the current Batman continuity, because Barbara Gordon is still Oracle, she stopped to be Batgirl because The Joker shot her in the spine.
The Joker from The Dark Knight is the one whose origin was never really revealed.

He got it perfectly right. The batman movie it got wrong.
That kind of makes sense, but... I don't think so.
I'm pretty sure he knows right from wrong. What evidence of the contrary do you have?
(not trying to sound like an asshole)
Every argument is irrelevant because DC completely scrapped any continuity they once had for a new piece of shit continuity.
DC sucks now. I tried reading new ones from the New 52 continuity, and they're terrible.

I'm just going to assume that your only knowledge of Batman is from the T.V. shows, The Dark Knight, and the Arkham Games and continue on my way.
the joker is just a highly developed character. That's the reason many people love him.
