And I just realized, the composer for the trilogy also composed the 2 (soon to be 3) of the Twilight movies.

You're welcome.

I have nothing against the music in the Twilight movies. Musicians go through bad phases.

The guy singing wrote the theme for The Simpsons, and also composed for most of Tim Burton's movies, as well as the Spider Man movies.

You're welcome.

The difference between Lord of the Rings films and the Twilight films:

Lord of the Rings is a bad film based off of one of the best books of all time.

Twilight is a bad film based off of one of the worst books of all time.

I personally don't see why there is so much hate for the Lord of the Rings films. They were rather well done, in my opinion. Okay, so some of the acting was less than perfect at some points, but other than that, there really wasn't any problem with them at all.

If anything, I'd take more issue with the books. While the story is utterly fantastic, the books themselves are written in a rather... to put it bluntly, bad format, making them extremely hard to read (That's not meaning I didn't understand it, I mean "hard to read" in the sense that it tends to drag on a bit in places, and is very jarring at others due to the way that the timeline goes through one set of characters at a time, making it difficult to follow what is going on where). Don't get me wrong, I have great respect for Tolkien and I loved the books, but it annoys me when people can criticise the films and then say the books were flawless.

Yes I did. Paying attention to the credits, remembering names. You know, using my brain to connect the dots will eventually lead to such a sudden realization.

I've heardly mostly praise for the films, so him saying they are bad films is surprising to me.

Despite the intentions of the artists, it has very obvious paedophillic connotations.

Yes, and the same from me. It seems to be only on here and from comments in places like 4chan that say otherwise...

I refuse to believe anyone pays attention to the credits, other than the friends and families of the people in them.
You say you did this not only at the end of Lord of the rings but also at the end of twilight and remembered on both occasions an obscure name among hundreds. That's just straight up autism.

I pay attention to the credits. And if I enjoyed the music in the film, I try to remember the name of the composer so I can find more of his work.

Well to be fair, the credits were on the boxes and the box always has the "music composed by" credit, usually right before the director.

And that's just fine.

I don't know if Howard Shore is an obscure name, but Alexandre Desplat may be. Who is he? Composer for one single Twilight movie AND the final 2 Harry Potter movies.

I pay attention to the credits of films that I enjoyed because I feel it is polite to do so. Not only that, but if I enjoyed a specific element of the film (say, a specific actor), it's less effort to sit through the credits to find out who it was than it is to look it up online. I also quite often enjoy the music in the end credits. A lot of film scores are rather incredible orchestral compositions, and that happens to be something I enjoy listening to, so I will sit at the end and listen to it.

Why is it cool to hate Twilight? They're films aimed at little girls. Just stop watching films for little girls.

To be honest, I kind of feel sorry for Robert Pattinson. All he did was star in a few (awful) movies, with a role that, let's face it, he couldn't really do much with (I mean, the character is 100% mopey emo, so what else can he do?) and now he's ridiculed by thousands of people. He probably just needed the cash...

Just remember that this is the same guy who's making music for The Hobbit. That'll get him his geek love back. "we must away come break of daaaaaaaaaaay."

Unless they get Leonard Nimoy to sing on the soundtrack I don't want to hear it!

Bilbo Baggins, The bravest little hobbit of them all!

Peter Jackson will ascend to godhood if he puts that in the end credits. But not that version, modern Nimoy backed by a full symphony with balls to the wall production values. And hippie chicks. Nimoy needs that.
