A gas station I saw this morning (Winnipeg) was at 89.4 cents/L
I think that's before the additional amount knocked off by the gas station; which is usually about 4-6 cents or so.
Getting high though. Glad I take the bus. o_O

I guess it's not so bad in Saskatoon at 89.9, but that's still much higher than it should be :S

are we talking liters or gallons? because this is a little confusing.
because if its gallons (which intuition is telling me it probaly isnt) then you guys have it hella good over the U.S.

The American gallon is 3.786;
The really high gas price of $1/litre would equal about $3.79CAN/gallon.
Converted to US dollars , that's approximately $2.77/gallon.
If I did that all right..

What are the prices in Europe? They've always been higher than in the US...

98.9 cents here in Montreal. I hear though that the government is investigating the validity of these drastic increases. Ten cents in a week is rather bloated. It just shows that we should improve and develop mass transit.

Currently the average price for Unleaded petrol is 80p/litre which is fucking expensive!
I think it equates to £1.40/litre or roughly $5.50 a gallon.

Gas is taxed like nothing else, here in Canada at least. It's "true" cost is only around 50 cents/litre, but it has several taxes piled on top of it, and it's not just the 15% HST that have grown accustomed to.
Gas (Regular) costs 93.9 cents/litre in Nova Scotia. (My part of Nova Scotia, at least.)

The gov't is looking into this and is proposing legislation that will make oil companies accountable and make them convince one of the ministries (I dont knoiw which, either natural resources or transport) that the increase is neccisary.

See? I'm never going to bitch and moan about prices creeping over $2. Christ. I heard that gas is still about 40 cents in Venezuala though. Woo woo!

Lets see... That's about 69 cents (U.S. Dollars) a liter for gas or roughly £0.40. Which rounds out to (in Dollars and Pounds):
$2.76 for a gallon of Gas
£1.6 for a gallon of Gas
Someone here is getting screwed on gas, and it ain't me. It's $1.81 per gallon for gas where I am. Though it was a $1.30 this time last year...

In the United States, it's over $2 a gallon, I blame all these people who insist on having SUV's and other gas guzzlers, such as the infamous hummer.

Get a more efficient car, if your in the city, especially Toronto, ride public transportation you gas hogging bastard.
They should keep going up, and fuel cells will become more popular.

Right now the US has it cheaper in terms of gas than Canada, Europe is more expensive than both. Egypt and Kuwait both are paying 45 cents a litre (in canadian money) and in Venezuala it's 5 cents.

Fuel cells are rather inefficient. I think the maximum efficiency equates to the fact that it requires around 5 gallons of gasoline to get hydrogen that equates to 1 gallon of gasoline. Technology in fuel cells has to come a long way before they come into the mainstream.

The efficiency isn't the thing though. The thing about fuel cells (hydrogen here, I'm guessing) is that they don't directly rely on a nonrenewable resource.

I hate it. Since gas prices are so high everywhere else, people accept and want fuel effecient cars. I want that. Instead in America we have "I live alone in the city, and have only seen dirt roads in movies. So of course I need vehicle equipt to seat ten and tackle even the toughest of terrain. Why should I worry about fuel effieciency, I'm never going to actually be far away from a pump?"

Looks like gas prices are on the way down because of the proposed legislation. I still remember when gas was 44 cents. I feel old.

O.k. Let me spell it out for you.
You are in California, and it more than likely is $2.00 a gallon. But in my little town of mayberry, it's $1.81 a gallon, and it's $1.71 right over the state line. $2.00 a gallon is the national average, which means not everyone is selling it for the same price. Understand?
