I liked Death Note when I was heavily into my 'all manga/anime males must be fucking' phase.

I'm now exactly halfway in and I have to say that I'm getting a little bit disappointed with the plot. It's taking one weird turn after the other to the point where it's just getting silly. Also, I don't like how L and Light keep on instantly jumping to the right conclusions when guessing each others reasoning, even when the conclusion is not even remotely logical at that point. I get that they are supposed to be very intelligent and "think alike", but they're not psychic are they?
I think the first seven episodes are still the best. I'll keep on watching though.

Youre taking it too seriously.
Also, it was epic before mello and near took over, after that it was pretty mediocre.
