Well, scheduling happened today... I am going to be a Junior next year, and I was told that I'm 1 of 3 Sophomores that are taking a risk as big as I am. I will be taking the MAX number of classes. My classes will be a mixture of honors and AP classes. I will not have a lunch period. I am also supposed to test out of the next math class, bumping me up to the math class after that. And the best part is that I am now officially registered for all of this shit so I can't change my mind.

Ummm, I've done that. Twice actually. The first time I ended up sliding down the side of a wall which slowed down my momentum. The second time I ended up jumping into a lamppost so that also cushioned it I suppose. Still bloody hurt both times.

I took 13 or 14 AP classes when I was in high school, if I recall.

Passed all the exams of course. Made it easy to get into college, to be honest.

If college is your goal, then taking the max number of credits may not be your best bet - more and more, colleges are looking beyond one's course load and GPA to an applicant's activities, employment and athletic achievement outside of the classroom - to make sure you are a "well-rounded" person.

If you spend all of your time on your classwork, you may appear one-dimensional to college admissions officers - and remember that you need to be accepted before you can worry about getting a scholarship.

Have you talked to any of your teachers to see if you could eat during their class? You need at least one. Remember, you're not an uber machine that doesn't need to eat. We all have flaws... including our digestive systems.

I think the point is that many colleges accept high AP test scores as college credit, so if he takes enough AP classes, he'll be able to shave a semester, maybe even a year, off college costs. I know a few people who did that.
