I don't like them, but I'll get used to it.
Thanks for the link, i had trouble finding them since the info page doesn't include a link to a levels page for an overview anymore, at least right now:

It also looks like the classic levels page is still under construction.
Right, looks like it is in progress.
Overall i like them about the same.
I'm a big fan of both pixel art and clean vector graphics.
I even prefer the smaller size for pixel art.
It becomes less genuine with bigger proportions since this allows more detail and takes away the retro feel.
The old list of images used some weapons multiple times while using different materials like wood, iron or gold.
There are more different kinds of weapons now.
I think it's confusing for those that were used to the old level icons since there are still many old weapons that are now used for a different level (e.g. lollipop, bottle, pipe, numchucks, glove, fireman's axe, morning star, katanas...and most gold weapons).
Although maybe this was done because they would mostly have felt out of place in the new array.
I also like that Johnny used exclusively objects of utility or toys for the first levels that aren't meant for fighting (except for the slingshot and the brass knuckles up to level 14).
I miss some of the old weapons (particularly the toilet sucker, the swiss army knife, the pipe wrench, the rusty crowbar, the indian axe, the dual-bladed axe with the skull, the golden gauntlet with the gem, and the bronze gauntlet with the belts - since that's the icon i was collecting XP for in the past :P).
But for that we got some new cool stuff (like a water blaster, a bowling pin, a gun with a prize tag, the Necronomicon, an Angry Faic staff, a golden banhammer, and even a freaking unicorn skull! :D).
So yeah, maybe there are some minor things that could have been made better, but overall i think Johnny did an awesome job!
