i am not sure if it is because of the update but when i try to load some games/ movies it doesnt load with the little box in the top left that has a circle square and triangle. ( i have had bad internet problems b4 so it may be that)

As most of us Ive been here on NG almost every day for the last few years and I really liked the old design Im gonna miss it! But hey its time for change. First thing I noticed it feels slow, I dont mean server overload because Ive tried browsing it at different hours if there are that many people every minute thats a good thing or u just need a better server, also old site was more fast phased if you get what I mean (more user friendly) maybe I just lost because its new but accessing music by genre needs 3 clicks instead of 2, call me stupid but this is what I mean by faster. Scoring from 1-10 changed to 5 stars, u can fill a star half way so I guess its still score 10 so that one was a nice upgrade. The buttons on the top are too shiny and overloaded. The rest I just have to get used to it except one thing, this black hurts my eyes!
gj NG keep up the good work!
It's about time! >.< I skimmed some of the forums and actually thought Newgrounds.com died... *sadness* BUT, It was BS so good stuff... Tom, Dan and the whole of you newgrounds ppl keep up the prosauceness of the site and i'm go make myself a Scotch fountian... peace!
I signed up to newgrounds after the redesign especially for this moment, even though I've ben here for several years, lol
well i like the new style but perfer old one. there so far hasnt been the preview robot from the old style for audio portal and while everything i have to say looks really cool some of the text and options are cut off. there also seems to be a problem with points since i just voted on five submissions but never got the message saying i got experience points for it. oh well can't have everything but might i recommend a way to let people go back to original layout if they wish to? might be useful for people who perfer the original over the newer version

This was a big oversight and we're moving to rectify it. :)

That's a bug we need to fix.
Wha, wha, whaaaaaa!?!? "we plan to switch to a one-vote-per-user system" Just saw this... Please don't. Please for the love of [insert unholy omnipotent being here] don't! This is why I log in daily, for the extra voting power over the newbs. Trust me, senior members having more voting power over D-bags that just registered is a GOOD THING.
Oops I didn't mean voting power of 1 per user, I meant one vote per submission per user. So you would vote with power but not vote multiple times on the same thing. To do it right the score of the submission would need to fluctuate over time as your vote power grows - but this might be a big performance issue so it's still in an exploratory phase.
2) Thanks for leaving the "Classic Portal" page, but can we get a segregated "Under Judgement" spot back at the top please?
Under Judgment stuff still shows up on the Classic Portal, it's just that publishing broke so nothing has been submitted since launch.
I'm not sure if I'm the first person to find this, but I'm certainly too lazy to look through this entire thread to see.
The newgrounds.com/lit/levels page still shows the old levels. I already tried clearing my cache and all that stuff, but it's still not showing the new ones.

I keep getting connections issues. Hopefully they are fixed soon?

OMG TOM this is so FU**ING BEAUTIFUL ~
Not only is it sleek and sexy, but its really convenient too. I can finally search for what I want from whatever portal I'm in!! I can access the dumping grounds from anywhere on the site as well! and the rest of buttons on the top of the page for quick links? GENIUS. I also just realized this was on my profile page:
"You have not filled in your contact info. This makes you nobody. How does it feel to be a nobody? (Note: You may continue to be a nobody even if you fill in your contact info.)"
You guys did an awesome job; With minds of true innovators.
I PROMISE you i'll visit the site more often just to see this update in action!
NG RATING : â^z/5
Its interesting but definitely something that I'll need to get used to
Yeah, I don't speak much...
Damn, this is sweet! :D
Good work on this, Tom and Co.!

When playing a flash submission, what happened to the "more by this artist" stuff? I really miss that.

There's your problem right there!
From one fellow Vista sufferer to another, try it out on Chrome.
I laugh at your sigs!
The Audio portal was was raped by a thorny dildo with the redesign. And Tom neglected to bring the lube. The Visulalizations, which were fun and uniquely Newgrounds, were all replaced by dozens of generic colored line junk.

Yes, yes you do. There are going to be growing pains, but undoubtedly the Staff are listening and will fix things that need to be fixed in due time.

Thanks Tom! Now I understand the 1-vote-per-user system. It's just voting on a submission once (and not switching to like/dislike).
Alright I just read the whole bloody thread (all 627 replies)

I don't really see anyone saying that things like navigation and function are improved at all, they're all saying how they like the colors and the icons and the sparkly nonsense.

At 18 hours ago, JoSilver wrote: OH god... For a sec there... I was afraid you guys got rid of this...
...oh. Never mind.
Anyway, I'm not really seeing anyone talking about improvements in the function or the navigation, quite the opposite.
So Tom I noticed you've been responding to things and I only quoted criticisms you hadn't responded to yet that I personally agree with:

You have all the favorites, updates etc. on the right, but absolutely nothing on the left, so why did you put the stats on a separate page? Please put them back there, or at least give us an option to do so.
Now I have to switch pages every time I want to either look at my stats or just look at my BBS posts.
And, speaking of switching pages, a separate page for submissions that are under judgment seems superfluous as well.Again, more clicking that could be avoided.

My level avatar says "blank slate", whatever that means.
The submission sections with the large thumbs and teeny tiny rollover type are hard to understand and navigate.
You have put a lot of work into this, for which you are to be commended, however, overall the site looks overproduced and out of control. I see that reviews are overall positive and with the necessity of use I'll settle in, but the re-do is a step back for usability.
So for starts, the top navigation bar. It's called mystery meat navigation, and it's a bad idea. Yes I know Google did it, but one of the things we all liked about Google was the simple hyperlink-based navigation. Google fucked up doing this, I'd urge you not to make the same mistake.
Form follows function is the way it should work, and decreasing the functionality to make it a teeny thing up at the top doesn't seem to be an improvement to me.
And I notice that, despite all these unnecessary and unwanted changes that aren't particularly helpful, that other things that seem obvious that people have been wanting for years simply weren't added. For instance, a preview button, or the ability to choose where in your post an image is inserted.
I'm up for change, and I appreciate that this site is your baby, but it seems like things were changed in a way that overcomplicated things without adding to functionality, added visual clutter, and got rid of stuff that looked and worked really well in favor of things that flat-out don't.

It looks absolutely amazing, I can't wait to force all of my friends who haven't logged in recently to do so now.
Huh! It looks pretty good. The background has obnoxious colors in my opinion that kind of distract from the content on the site, but I'm pretty sure the background will be changed back soon enough.
