I think they're a great idea, more than anything at the moment I'd love to see a GTA Trilogy HD Collection with III, Vice City and San Andreas. I don't really care for them being remakes, just compilations, though better graphics and physics are nice. At the moment I only have Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary and Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection.

Sony answered my wishes with jak and daxter. the original ape escape deserves also an hd remake.

YES! But it will only be for the PS3.

I think they're a pretty good idea. They were a little controversial at first, but I think they won over the gamers.

There are many reasons why I think HD Remakes are good. The first being that sometimes people did not get to play a game last generation, for whatever reason. With the remakes you can introduce them to a whole new audience, plus the people that loved the originals. Second is a lot of them comes as collections. You end up getting 3 games for less than the price of a current generation game! To top it off, the game is updated in numerous ways and includes achievements/trophies.

So yes you might be buying a game from last generation, but sometimes double dipping isn't so bad.

Am I the only person here who's looking forward to the Final Fantasy X remake?

Kingdom Hearts needs a remake so bad. It will have been out for 10 years this September.

I think it's great to see HD remakes of old games. I was really looking forward to seeing an HD remake of FF7 and my dream almost came true when Sony unveiled their PS3 teaser at E3 one year. I still have faith that we will see a FF7 remake especially with the announcement of a FFX remake.

Being able to play Ico again and Shadow Of The Collosus without all the terrible frame rate drops, 3D, and HD was totally worth rebuying some old games. The Sly Cooper games also held up pretty well, and I need to grab the MGS collection soon too. If they could go back and dig up the original high-res renders of the backgrounds and sprites (I assume they exist) for Abe's Oddesy and Exoddus and give us a re-release of that...mmmm. The only one I've had any kind of problem with so far was Earthworm Jim HD because the audio was off, maybe that's what the original master recordings sounded like but it just wasn't right.
