Minecraft And Terraria Feb. 5th, 2012 @ 05:19 PM Reply

Minecraft and terraria im sure you all know this, minecraft players and terraria players have been battling each other for quite some time now, i believe that minecraft has an open enviormnent and that terraria has a bunch (A BUNCH) more stuff in it

but the thing is i believe that both gammes have their strengths and weaknesses, minecraft has a bigger world to explore, but by being a 3-D game it is natuarlly glitchy, terraria has more gameplay elements that give it its kick but the world is limited and the 2d aspect only gives you 2 escape paths from danger, i believe that minecraft and terraria are equal and that it would be awesomee if the 2 of tthem merged together into 1 big super 3-D Rpg-like, full of enemies, and endless fun skyrim -like game

I want to know what other people think about this so i decided to ask newgrounds
Do you think terraria and minecraft should be as equal, or do you think one is better?

I find that people who have played both games agree that they are way, way different. People who have only played Minecraft usually just assume that Terraria is a rip-off and don't even give it a chance.

Honestly, I've found both to be boring.

Both games appeal to different people, Minecraft has a huge focus on mining and building while Terraria has a huge focus on combat.

Both have their own ups and downs and in my opinion they are both equal.

I really still stand by my feelings of they are too different to really compare in the way that they are constantly compared.

At least Terraria isn't filled with autistic people.

Minecraft does a better job of being virutal Lego by virtue of being 3D.
Terraria does a better job of being a "game" as it has superior combat.

I've played both games. And I think that Minecraft should be nothing more than a building game. Not a fighting game or anything. I prefer Terraria because of it's better fighting mechanics and extra content.

I've played both pretty extensively, and they're two very different games. Just like people have said before, Minecraft is all about building, while Terraria has that adventure aspect to it. I played Minecraft with my friends and it was the only way I was able to play it. With Terraria I'm able to play single player worlds and still enjoy myself due to the massive amount of content that game has and the enjoyable combat system.

I enjoy both games, but I've gotten a lot more play time from Terraria.

I can see the resemblace sort of... but they're two completely different games going in two different directions as far as I'm concerned.

Honestly, though people may associate them together, they're both so different. Given that Minecraft is 3D and Terraria is 2D, Minecraft will probably go down better with gamers who like extensive rpg games. Terraria on the other hand, does have more in game objects and looks more like a platforming Gameboy rpg than anything.

My suggestion is too try both. I first tried Minecraft, and then Terraria, and found out that I like them both! They're not so similar either. Definitely should play them both.

As for my favourite though, Minecraft takes #1
