This sunday is just about as big for football as it is for the american gridiron version, as you will be able to see here.
There are so many classics and derbies i can't decide which ones to watch. I'll probably watch two at a time in separate windows. Good luck choosing yours.
Milan v Napoli
Roma v Inter
Chelsea v United
Kaiser v Köln
Sevilla v Villareal
Fenerbaçe v Besiktas <- I think the BJK fans' ban from stadia is over, not sure
PAOK v Olympiacos
Kobenhavn v Shaktar
Porto v Setúbal (League Cup) <- "El Comandante" Lucho Gonzáles is back at Porto
Santos v Palmeiras
Russia v Italy (Futsal)
Ghana v Tunisia (ACoN)
Marseille v Lyon
Atlético v Valência
Benfica v Marítimo (League Cup) <- Marítimo knocked Benfica out of the Portuguese Cup
América v Tigres
As a Porto fan, i know one i'll be watching for sure...

In that case, you might be interested in knowing that Italian football has evolved from the traditionally defensive rigor and discipline to scorelines like February 1st's Cagliari 4-2 Roma and Inter 4-4 Palermo, or today's Genoa 3-2 Lázio.

It's Milano, racism was practically invented there. I counted 3 sleeve-rockets in Roma, it's ended 4-0. Inter's developing a talent for taking 4 goals.

While i'm definitely a football fan i'm becoming a bit.. tired of it. So many matches turn out to be dull.
I follow Ajax though, watch almost every game of them. They played terribly bad today. And i'm going to a Euro League game of FC Twente :)
But foreign matches between teams i don't really feel connected with feel like just more of the same.
Porto is a cool team though, i hope they win.

Unless this soccer game begins with "world" and ends with "cup" it's not as big a deal as it is for American football.

Dude, fix your youth system. A few years ago you guys were a talent factory, the hell happened? I remember Ajax buying 16 year old japanese kids for a couple cents, BOOM, 40MEU sale.

I know, i know. There's a whole crisis around Ajax, multiple parties who have different views on how things must go (with the youth system and other things). Cruijff is involved. And Louis Van Gaal.
Unfortunately, i have absolutely no influence within Ajax so i can't change anything myself :(

You apparently skipped the long list of gigantic games in the OP. I'll be watching the gridiron "world" superbowl later too.

I'm sorry sexy Tiago all I can focus on is Chelsea v Man U. Even after we scored I suddenly feel more nervous.

Half-a-Chelsea*. You've got some 4 key players missing.
Me and Ejit are considering a drinking game where whenever the commentators:
a) talk shit about foreign players\staff;
b) jack off to English players\staff;
we'd take a shot. I imagine i wouldn't make it to half-time.

@OP
Yeah sure, the entire world calls soccer football.
You are posting on a site based in America and the owner of such said site is also American.
Here. In America. It's called soccer. Period.
We don't care.
If you were serious about this thread and not stupid you would've worded it as such.

Couldn't agree more with this.
Making a soccer thread during Super Bowl Sunday? Obviously trying to fool everyone.

Honestly not my intent. I thought the "(with feet)" would be enough distinction, and the objective of the OP is sincere. I apologise if you were confused.

It would be erotic poetry to my ears.
Also football (with feet) is pretty clear.
I watched the second half of Chelsea - Man U. And i was rooting for Man U.

Porto just got one star back, González has scored in his re-debut, score's 1-0 at half-time, put a smile on every Portista's face. Portugal's best commentator:
He has a Kasparovian antecipation that puts him 10 seconds ahead of everyone else (...) He seems to feel comfortable playing. - Luís Freitas Lobo
No shit, sherlock. He's home.
Wish there were space\money to bring back a lot of stars. That'd mean taking Meireles back from you, though, and Mou, of course, along with AVB as assistant-manager.
Also, on a worse note, Fábio Faria (Benfica, out on loan) is in hospital after passing out during a training session due to a now-diagnosed heart condition. He's stable, prognosis not yet available.

You'll be happy to know that one ended in 0-1 (Roshi@72'), then, with Kaiserslautern's Borysiuk sent off.
