3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsI was planning on picking up a psp tomorrow for my son's 9th b-day. Obviously he'd like some games to go with it. I was thinking about Eyepet and Little Big Planet. What are some games that you'd call must haves for a younger gamer?
We're meat and that's it. So lets fuck it, fuck it, fuck it.
Minecraft: JuJitsuLipShitz
Gitaroo Man
Monster Hunter (any)
Split Second
crap, I forgot about Patapon, I'd wanted to try that one myself.
only the original FF's on PS Sotre
FFIII and VII for the win!
Seems odd to get a PSP now, considering the Vita is coming out on the 22nd of this month.
But anyway,
-Crisis Core (and the older FF games on PSN. Specifically IX)
-Dissidia 012
-Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
-Daxter
-Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier
-Patapon
-Medievil Resurrection (the original on PSN is arguably better, but it's much harder)
-Little Big Planet

Eh, a nine year old doesn't need a $250 portable gaming device, and I'd rather only be out $130 when it inevitably gets broken. If I was to buy a Vita it would be for myself and since I don't find much time to play video games while I'm out and about, I won't be. Getting an older system there's also good sized backlog of cheap games for him to choose from.
Thanks for the ideas, gents.

Correct sir. I would of course suggest the DS, but your logic is solid. I sincerely doubt he would even fully appreciate the Vita. It does look very good though.

He's been pretty vocal for a couple years about wanting a PSP. His older brother got a DS for his last birthday, and he's stuck to his guns about wanting a psp still. They can always trade off too ,so no worries.

Just want to point out that Dissidia 012: Duodecim includes an improved version of the first game too, so getting both (or getting the original at all really) is pointless.

How to review like your opinion matters
I like LocoRoco, pretty entertaining. I can't think of very much that hasn't been mentioned, though.
You could always look through the online store with him and ask what he wants.
Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
Secret Agent Clank
Daxter
Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier
MediEvil
Ape Escape
LittleBigPlanet
Monster Hunter
Spyro (PSOne Classics)
Crash Bandicoot (PSOne Classics)
Patapon
LocoRoco
Also, I would suggest getting Trails in the Sky for yourself if you're into RPG's.
I need a sig.
PSN: gowow20
Loco Roco is an easy to play, adorable, and amazingly fun game.
For I am and forever shall be... a master ruseman.
Get him Corpse Party and scar him for life!
PSN ID: DMANSLAND, Wii number: too lazy to look up, Manliness level: GODLY
daxter
kingdom hearts: birth by sleeep
littlebigplanet
jak and daxter: the lost frontier
If he's into sneaking games, then metal gear solid: peace walker.
Tales of the world Radiant mythology is good if he is into the RPG type of games.
