4.23 / 5.00 14,269 ViewsOkay, so I'm not going to be around to check this thread much over the next couple of days, but The-Great-One makes a decent point here.
Whilst I agree with some of the stuff about bug reporting in there, I have a slightly different view on posting threads etcetera about them.
It doesn't hurt to post about what you might think will be a bug. In fact, it CAN help AS LONG AS ONCE THE BUG IS CONFIRMED SOMEONE FOLLOWS IT UP WITH A PM TO THE APPROPRIATE PERSON AND MAKES A NOTE IN THE THREAD OF WHO THEY HAVE CONTACTED. If we don't know about a bug, we can't fix it and I can't imagine many of us spending much time on the forums looking for problems in the next week or so.
There are several important steps to this:
1. Check for other threads first. In fact, you can keep bug reports in here if you want. Read through thoroughly to avoid repetition.
2. Include as much information about the page you're having issues with as possible - the URL, the behaviour you're expecting from it and what is (not) happening.
3. Make sure you include your browser and version. This is VERY important as there are lots of cross-browser quirks. What might work fine in Firefox might be nuked in Chrome, so one person in one browser might be issue free and another with another browser might have all manner of problems.
4. Make sure you include your operating system and version. Not as important as #3, but the same browsers on different OS' have been known to have slightly different issues from one another.
5. Contact ONE person about this only - there's no point in PMing all of us about the same thing as that just leads to us wasting time figuring out who is dealing with it, or whether one of us is already dealing with it. There are details about who does what for the site on the staff page (which will be in the wiki come the redesign, if it isn't already). If you're still unsure as to who to contact after reading through that list, you can contact me and I'll pass it on to the person responsible for the problematic section.
We may not be able to reply to all PMs, just keep checking the page you were having problems with over a period of time and if you see it's fixed, you'll know we've read your (or someone else's) message.
Eventually, we ought to have a ticket system for this kind of thing, but for now we'll have to muddle through with what we have.
There's little point in replying to this until after launch and try and keep it free of clutter when you do start replying. It might be an idea to bookmark this thread to pass on to people who're unlikely to read it, so we can keep everything in one place.
Enjoy your weekend and see you Monday (fingers crossed).
Cool, it's just as good as the time Tom asked us to hunt for the April Fools' Easter egg and in return got a bunch of bugs. Only this time, it's more exciting! Can't wait for the redesign.

No problem. I just wonder, how do you change the site over ? Is it just as simple as deleting one hard drive with all the site's current stuff and replacing it with the redesigned site's files, or is there some more complex method?
When is the redesign being launched? Can't report any bugs until after it goes live.
I'm pretty excited.
I won't report bugs - They already will have been seen 1,000 times before I see them.

Oh PM box - stop teasing me.
You tell me I have a new message, but when I click on you there is no new message.
When you post on the BBS, it redirects you, then posts, so you have to refresh to see the message.

On the left hand side in the shop there seems to be a link that needs to be updated to a new FAQ page.

I'm guessing the Help/FAQ should link to this or this instead of this.
Another thing is the most recent thread or 'Hot Topic' isn't being updated correctly.

It would appear that the "Latest Creations" as well as other submissions all appear to be submitted on December 31 of some year before I was even alive.
Oh, there's a thread for this? Well I've been sending all bug reports to Tom.
Anyway, here are the bug reports I sent him so far:
One Project System bug:
1.) In the drop-down menu of the Audio credit page of the project system, everything is repeated twice:
http://i43.tinypic.com/bguybl.jpg
One HTML bug:
2.) The HTML buttons in forum posts, news posts and PM's aren't working.
Two PM Inbox bugs:
3.) When you sort your inbox via 'Sender' and go to a different page, the list goes back to sorted via 'Date' and you have to click on 'Sender' again to sort it properly.
4.) Every PM I start to write always begins with two fresh lines (as if I pressed enter twice).
One favourites bug:
5.) I can't seem to find where to see who my favourites are on a song, and the 'Favourites' link in this page is a dead link.

Same here actually. I am a Police Lieutenant and it's showing up with the Pico running icon just like that.

Oh, hai Rob.
I don't like this whole "at 2 minutes ago" thing when using quoting.
Sweet redesign. I'm a bit lost, but I'll get used to it.
Review bug:
When reviewing a submission, the "Characters Remaining" count doesn't go down and remains at 4,096.
Browser: Chrome v16.0.912.77

Does anyone else get this problem?

Nope, works just fine for me.
I can't select emotions on iPad. I'm guessing you don't really care though Jim :'(

Crap, my bad. I meant when responding to a review, sorry.
Does anyone else's character count stay at 4,096 when responding to a review?

In that case, yes, it does stay at 4,096 when responding to a review.
Also something to note that isn't really a big deal - when writing a review there is a period after the amount of characters you have left and when you are responding to a review there is no period.

FINALLY! Somebody actually reads what I write! Hopefully this thread will do some good in bug reporting for not only the redesign, but at the same time for anything new added to Newgrounds.
My account seems to have the money earned from Flash submissions reset as well.
Even when I put it on All Time, it only has like $3
I'm using firefox 10.0
I noticed this in a previous post. Not sure if it will occur again. When I put in the pound sign (currency) it added another character into my post.
Like this £.
Not entirely sure if that'll happen again, haha.
Also, other symbols $ % @. Not sure if they'll produce a similar error.

Apparently I cannot view my metals without my whole internet freezing up. Perhaps something can be done to prevent that?
I think that counts as a bug, especially if alot of other people are having the same problem
At 5 minutes ago, Manly-Chicken wrote: Going directly to the bbs from a userpage goes to theusername.newgrounds.com/bbs
This is the case with every link on userpages. It puts the user's name in front of the newgrounds.com/whatever.
I found a bug, the bug was that when i click submit your own in movies, it just came up an error page not found.... Please help
Flash.... Best thing on PC ever!
Tested in Firefox 10.0 on Windows 7 64bit Professional (fully up-tp-date).
When you're in in a profile, such as deckheadtottie.newgrounds.com and you click on sub-nav link such Movies Audio Art Favorites etc... when you try to click a link on the main nav bar you get a "The page you requested could not be found" error because the URL keeps the username in it. So instead of directing to me to, say, the BBS at newgrounds.com/bbs it tries and directs me to deckheadtottie.newgrounds.com/bbs which doesn't exist.
Clear as mud.

i just had this problem!
when you go from newgrounds.com to another zone of the site (example newground.com/bbs) it's works!
but if you do this from the userpage it doesn't work!
