When people PM me about doing something for their game/flash, it usually goes like this:
"Hey, I really like your stuff, so I'm doing a game/flash and I'd love for you to do some music for it... I want you to write a pop/punk song."
At which point, I question if they've ever even listened to my music, because I don't write pop or punk.
Also, is there a particular reason you're asking?
I ask to see if there is a pattern that follow in the requests so that I can focus on practicing that form. Plus, I like to see what everyone is up to.

You can't really prepare for a collab unless you know ahead of time what they'll want from you. My advice is to just practice what you're doing already, go outside your comfort zone once in a while (Because like I mentioned above, sometimes people will ask you to do stuff you normally wouldn't).
There's no set pattern really, everyone will want something different, and everyone will ask for things in a different way.
As for seeing what everyone is up to, we have newsposts for that (Or the Audio Forum Lounge).
I usually try to get a feel for if they know what they want, or if they're interested in letting me have a high level of artistic control. If it isn't one or the other, my interest declines pretty swiftly.

Off topic, but I prefer your trance tracks above all your other stuff.
