[PAID] Animated Web Series Shorts ($10,000+)

PikaParody Studios is looking for an animator to create our new web series called "Busted." It is a professionally written series about two police officers who hassle different video game character in each episode. The animator will work with the director (Nick Plagman) who recently graduated film school with an emphasis in directing.

The contract which will be signed beforehand will be for a 10 episode season. Each episode is about 3 minutes long. The animator will receive a storyboard and list of assets for each episode. The director will brief the animator and producer (me) for each episode. As the animator is working on assets, the director will record paid actors and mix a final mp3. This mp3 will consist of all voice acting, music, and some sounds for the entire episode. The animator will animate according to the timing of the mp3. Other sounds like walking will be added by the producer in post-production.

Pay is $1000 per episode + bonus. Basically, the animator will receive $1 per thousand views until the video receives 1,000,000 views. After which, the animator will receive a bonus of $0.50 per thousand views until the video is 2 years old. We are expecting at least (at least) 800,000 views in the first six months.

Here are two videos PikaParody Studios has created that have done quite well in the last six months before PikaParody Studios has become more professional in nature.

Slowtiger, before reminding me that $1000 is relatively low for a 3min episode; I must first say that I am not expecting professional Western animators to respond to this. Rather, I am looking for animators who are just getting started in animating part time or full time. I am also looking for animators in non-Western countries who would appreciate a $10,000 offer.

If you are interested, please send me (the producer) an email (pikaparody@gmail.com) with a demo of your work. Any style of animation will work. Just let us see what your style is. I can send you a copy of the script and storyboard for episode 1 if you would like to evaluate the scope of the work. Lastly, we can send you an mp3 of something else one of our other animators are working on.

Thanks for your time - Kedric

Are you just expecting the animation/art to be as good as the videos you've shown us in these videos?

Good question. I am expecting the animation/art to have no major flaws. There are many different styles of animations and as of right now we are open to many different styles. Just as long as there are not major flaws in the animation.

I would expect for the amount they are paying and the assumed quality of voice-acting and scripting, they would expect something with probably the quality of Gamer Tonight by Rubberninja.

Most flash series are without pay, so the fact that they are paying means that quality has to be expected. I would also think the person would have skill in characters, art, and animation. Thats just my thoughts on it though.

I don't think that reply really answered my question...

So...
Would you consider those videos to have no major flaws?

Also is there a deadline, or is it ok as long as it gets done in a decent time frame (which would be how long?)?
How long do you expect a 3 minute animation to take?

I'm interested, but I'm not sure about accepting a "contract" at the moment.

Oh, just to help out with finding people:

How long will the animator have to create each episode?
(a decent animator can do 30 seconds a week, so for 3 minutes I would give them at least 6 weeks)

(sorry for double post)

Cthun,

I am sorry I did not really reply to your post thoroughly.

What I mean by no major flaws can be so many different things. Your right. The videos I did show you definitely had some flaws in it. Sorry.

Something to the quality of Gamer Tonight would be okay. If you are interested, just send me some of the stuff you have done and I will tell you if it works well with this particular series.

I have other series in the works as well. I am always looking for a good sprite animator that can animate to the quality of dorkly or sonic for hire.

My hard drive actually decided to give up not to recently, so I don't have too much animation to show, and no animation thats not a character in an upcoming game I'm developing.

That means if I was to actually show you any animation, it would probably have to be something I make just to show you what I'm capable of.

I might do something tomorrow, but if I don't you probably can just forget about me and move on.

Also animation like Gamer Tonight is actually pretty easy because there actually isn't too much movement.

If you have any still frames - that my be helpful.

If you want to see some of the scripts, send me an email. I would like to see some of your work first though before I show you mine. :-)

I know some desperate animator will jump at this opportunity because $1000 sounds nice and they will be grateful for the job...but the amount of work and quality you're asking for is very hollywood. I just hope whoever you end up getting, you appreciate them and their work. :)

I am not necessarily after hollywood style. Just something that looks nice. Egoraptors stuff is not pro stuff . . . but I would work with somebody that animated like him.
