Why some people like torture movies

How can you watch these horrible and gross movies and enjoy them?

Anyone getting torn apart screaming with blood spewing in every direction, or someone having a baby with someones anus stapled to their mouth disturbs me.

They like to see things they won't actually do in real life.

I won't lie, I've dreamed and thought of torturing also as I guess most people have, I wouldn't ever do it, but it is something my brain finds an interest in.

My best guess is we are all monsters, deep inside our mind. Supposedly we are decended from primates, and those suckers can do really mean stuff. They'll murder, steal, and eat their own children, whatever it takes to make it another day and to see their genes passed on. Survival of the fittest, as they say.

Now, just because we are more evolved doesn't make us any better. At best, we are weaker because we show restraint. And hell, people steal, murder and such. There are sick people out there. And even more stable people out their are decended from the same source. So what does that have to do with tourture flicks?

Simple. We are all a little bit crazy. Also, it is a good excuse to show titties :).

I wonder about the mental state of the persons who come up with some of those movies. I thought the first couple of films from the SAW series was interesting, then it got boring and cliche; but it was an interesting concept

The Hills Have Eyes and Texas Chainsaw Massacre are not torture porn. Hostel is, though. I saw the first and second ones. They both sucked, but the cat licking the guy's open neck after he was decapitated was pretty funny.

I watched the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the remake and thought they were both decent. And I never saw the original Hills Have Eyes, but I saw the remake, and it was pretty good.

Because some people like horror+ splatter movies not really surprising people get a thrill out of viewing horrible ways to go. You sound the audience are all sadistic serial killers in the making. It's no different than people going to an action movie because the want to see blood and stylized violence

It's how absurd and over the top they are for some of us. Me and my friends order chinese food and make a mockery of everything that's not realistic. In those movies about 10 gallons of blood seem to come out of one person, and yet they don't pass out. It's a miracle.

"That's disgusting, the pain must be unbearable! I wonder what will happen next..."

"That's even worse! Christ almighty, what the fuck. I wonder what torture will come next."

and so on and so fourth

I guess it's the thrill of what is happening and what will happen next, will the person get tortured to death? Who else will be the victim? Will they escape? Who is this arsehole that is doing all this crazy stuff? It's the same thing as turning on the telly, not knowing the title of a film, it's obviously shit and not in your taste, but you just can't help but be intrigued by the whole thing.

I'm not a fan of horrors, but the Human Centipede is a barrel of laughs because it's so over the top, but believable because let's face it, that probably has happened. It's a big world. Think about that.

It's a sub-genre of horror, and like any genre of film, there are a lot of bad movies as well as good movies to pull from.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is an excellent independent film. It's a brutal, gritty, dark, and disgusting movie, and its gruesome insanity is the reason why it's such a good film. It feels almost documentary like and it's inspired by real-life events. Leatherface is a classic horror icon. Nobody is sick for enjoying it, it's just art.

It's the adrenaline these things produce and honestly I'd rather have people watching fictitious media for their kicks then going out and doing things like that in the real world.

Most of the time the characters in those kinds of movies are pieces of shit or insufferable pricks. Always fun to watch them go in the worst way possible. Besides it's all fiction, it's not like it's something out of toxic junction or anything.

I assume that the girl get's disemboweled from the top of abdomin right down to her overies right and she's like getting her guts pulled out? Yeah sorry I don't watch those sort of films very much.
