Dubstep/DnB are part of the electronic genre, and what if it's my opinion that it holds some of the best?
It's not my FAVORITE genre, but a genre that heavily influences my music.
I'm not sure if I could even name a favorite band that wasn't from the DnB/Dubstep scene but Infected Mushroom, Deadmau5, Porcupine Tree, or Blackfield would be good picks.

You failed on your first try my dude. Infected Mushroom is DNB (or was).

Actually whoops. I was confusing Infected for Pendulum for some reason. My badddddd.
I should know better because I've seen both of them.

Haha yeah dude I was gonna say "Infected mushroom is so not DnB."
Psychedelic trance. Not my favorite, but they do an interesting job with it.
Pendulum is cool and all but I hope you don't use them as a reference when you think about the genre, because they're mainstream as fuck and it sounds bad bro.
Benn Jordan for lyf.
Legitimate question: do Chiptunes count as electronic?
Personally, although I do have a soft spot for fruityloop byproducts, I've always enjoyed Chiptunes the most.
2D or not to 2D simple retro genius.

Never.
To be honest, they were one of the worst DJs I've ever seen. And I've seen quite a few. They missed last place just barely, but that spot belongs to Above and Beyond. All they did was drink beer and their singer was so off it literally hurt my ears (and I was on drugs, too).
Pendulum played Tarantula TWICE, because I guess they figured nobody would notice? Well, I did. And it was horrible.

I hate pendulum so much!
I agree on some parts. Indeed I don't like the singing very much, but they did made three good songs: Blood sugar, Fasten your seat belts (not really impressive, but not bad) and the island.
Other than that, OP didn't respond so I guess that trance is fine too. In that case Infected Mushroom, no doubts about that. Probably OR vicious delicious, becoming insane or the messenger. Don't know for sure.
If it's Goa, I'll say astral projection - No one ever dreams and if you talk about soft trance, I'll probably to for Lunaspace - Show me the light.

Depeche Mode, being one of my favorite bands, takes the cake as my favorite electronic band as well.

How does one make fake electronic music? It's music that's made electronically. Kinda hard to fake.

Not really, most of those aren't very obscure, except maybe The Black Dog. You even knew two of them ;)

SineRider, marry me where it's legal. This list almost literally describes my electronic musical tastes to the letter, save for the absence of The Flashbulb, Sneaker Pimps, and Portishead.
And no, these are most certainly not hipster. They're incredibly well-known worldwide and would be even more so had BATalsdr not gotten all his vids of these guys taken off of Youtube with extreme prejudice. Damn shame, as there were some real classics that got me into this stuff and away from classic rock up there (although I still have a fondness for the genre, kinda).
Mental Music for Thinkers and Doers
Zombie nation all the way. But then again, I'm a metalhead so I wouldn't care.

Everything on G's dirty electro mix. 27 minitues of pure awesome.
Easily "Pacific State" by 808 State for the best electronic song!
Kraftwerk, though, was the pioneer for computer-gen music; I don't see how anyone could say they were anything but the best electronic band. 808 comes very close, however - I love them both.
