Decided to make an ongoing thread where I can post stuff from my current project as new items are created. So far there's no 3D stuff, but it's transmedia and 3D (DAZ/Carrara) will be an aspect of it as the project progresses.
Here's the latest interview I did, hoping to do some more press as things move forward.
Any questions or comments, that's what I'm here for!

This is an animatic WIP that I just recently sent over to my secondary animator who's handling pencil duties on an anime-style cut scene for the series. Since the cut scene will have more elaborate animation than does the animated series that I'm doing, even though it doesn't appear until the second episode we're having to start work on it now to ensure that it's completed on time.

I haven't decided when I'm going to actually make the leap to Newgrounds. I want to be careful with this project because there are several different kinds of media involved and I know NG is pretty picky when it comes to visual format.
When/if I take the plunge to posting things here on NG, I want to make sure that there is some depth of content and also that the content will be embraced. Over the next year I suppose this thread will act as a kind of feeler for that.
Screenshot from the upcoming 2nd teaser animation for the series.
Title card for the teaser. The concept is that the different pieces will appear individually with the instrumental beats and then the entire thing will be revealed and then animation will begin.

Is the animation going to be like the animation in your trailer? Because, no offense but, it's very stiff and badly badly tweened :L
Just saying, because if the whole episode is like that, it won't get much praise.

The first promo was just to have something to start spreading the word about the project. Most people who've seen it seemed to like it. But yeah, it relied heavily on tweens. I'm not sure what "badly tweened" means exactly. I'm assuming you meant the *amount* of tweening was bad? The actual animated series is a combination of symbols and FBF (lip synch, major leg and arm movements are FBF, minor movements will be tweened). Most camera pans are AE.
As to the next teaser animation (the screenshot above), it's FBF and live action. No tweening. ;)
Here's the cover for the first serial novel from the project. The series is titled Revelation Falls: (subtitle) for purposes of mood. Revelation Falls is the fictional city where Outstanding Pajamas takes place. Since the comic books, novels, animated series, et al are all of different genres using the same characters, while Outstanding Pajamas is the umbrella, the novels and comics are meant to attract an audience away from the animation stuff. All things being equal, the hope is that one can just read the novels or comics or watch the shows or live action stuff and by themselves they'll be complete experiences; but if one chooses to they may jump between genres and media.
FML with the no editing. lol
Just noticed the YouTube link is wrong in the first post.
Alrighty that's cool.
And by "badly tweened" i was mostly referring to when it showed the on super hero at the beginning moving his fists about.

Yeah, animation is pretty much just the concept or indication of movement. I figured people would be able to ascertain that in that scene the indication of movement was meant to represent a "put up your dukes" gesture. You can spend three minutes and a whole year animating that same gesture if you want, but I felt the indication of the gesture came across well enough. But again, the promo animation is only to serve as a means of delivering a bit of information on the project as well as existing to provide general promotion.
Thanks for your feedback! :)
Lip synch test for current workflow. Using 27 phonemes opposed to the traditional 7-9.

Very enjoyable. I liked how you even went the extra distance and made the chin move at some points of the sync. Keep up the good work, from what I saw with the animatic it looks promising.

Thanks! Appreciate it!
Took a break from the frame by frame teaser to do a quick hair test in flash
