3.93 / 5.00 4,634 ViewsAlthough he got 14% of the vote, he is victorious as it shows the American population ARE waking up, he had a vote increase of just under 400% that in it's self shows it all.
Ron Paul didn't get 400% increase, his share of the vote in New Hampshire was 23%, so he actually declined in support. Even if you are referring to a 400% increase on some poll taken right at the start of campaigning, 400% Increase doesn't mean anything in primaries which (correct me if I'm wrong) are winner takes all.
Secondly, your claim 'the american people are waking up' doesn't prove anything. Different states will vote different ways. Do not assess the entire of the country on the results from one state. Newt Gingrich won South Carolina with 40% - that is over 4x what he polled in New Hampshire - by your logic this shows that the American people have decided they don't want a central candidate and are pledging their support to a right wing conservative
I meant a increase in the amount of votes he got compared to last Presidential elections, not vote share.
If the people where 'waking' up to Newt he would of had a much bigger amount of votes, however it somewhat stagnated, however there are many who vote for what I call the "Tea party bloc" (even though Ron paul was the one who founded it) and many can't see past the Bloc.
While I do think Ron Paul would make an excellent president, the problem is is that most of the states with the delegates (Notice I said SOME) to the RNC are typically more moderate, like California or Illinois, who will probably vote for Romney (Who to me is a fox in sheeps clothing, just like Obama. And I can say that for sure because I was born/live in MA).
Gingrich will probably narrowly win Florida on his second wave of support. I would say now that Rick Perry is out Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich would be the ones to watch in Texas, and other central-south states. Santorum is essentially finished, even though he won Iowa. I think in the end it will be a close call between Gingrich and Romney, but I still would like to see Paul win.
