I'm having trouble figuring out how to get a nested animation to play on the main timeline without having to go into the nested symbol.
It is necessary for me, because I need some of my animations to be synced perfectly and I have MANY movieclips nested within movieclips, nested within movieclips...
So is there a way to get ALL the nested movieclips to play at the same time?
Or maybe theres a another way to go about this...
I'm still relatively new to animation in Flash, so any help is very much appreciated.
PS: I'm using Flash CS5.
Depends on what its for.
If you want all of your MC's to play at the same time you could just throw all of the symbols onto the stage at the same time, and the ones that you don't want to be on screen you can just keep in your pasteboard till you move them on screen.
No, they have to be nested for coding reasons.
What I need is a way to make all the nested mcs play in the main timeline at the same time so I can animate more efficiently (without exporting the swf everytime I want to see the animation play).
Easy, just convert all symbols from "movieclip" to "graphic". This way they'll play when you scratch the main timeline.
