Is existence really full of suffering and miserableness? Are we the lucky ones? When we die will we just be reincarnated into another horrible life or another plane of existence?

When I'm in my first world society I always notice how fragile we are and how innocent and 'weak' we are, its like we are all playing dominos or something. No matter what we do pain and suffering (emotional or physical) still exists yet we can't do anything about it but ignore it and keep building and living.

Anyway enough about that, does anyone want to come to my house and larp with me and some friends? There is three of us so far, one fighter, one sorcerer and a rogue and we are going to venture out of the city of Neverwinter (Craig's basement) to fight the tribes of the Uthgardt.

I imagine that kind of life would be very peaceful and satisfying, but it would take an immense amount of discipline that only a handful of people on the planet possess.

You know, Japan is a first world country as well. After talking to several Japanese people though, all of them didn't believe in any sort of religion. However, I've heard some people considering themselves "maybe Buddhist" or "maybe Shinto".

Id say Shinto is more popular tham Buddhism in Japan, but theres still more non-believers than believers in religion in Japan. Its a similar case in South Korea.

Yes. We are indeed the fortunate ones. Existence is full of suffering and misery. Even here in our firs world society, life hangs on the edge of a string. Throughout history, we have seen what disaster and war do humans. Once the balance is disrupted, we are reverted into savages. And it can still be argued that we have always been savages. In the end, none of us are lucky. We're are broken people living under a loaded gun. We're not wise enough to keep our resolve. We're not wise enough to remain civil. Greed, ambition, hate. The Buddha was right. Only by sacrificing our worldly desires, shall we be able to glimpse a better future. And in a world like this, hope is fruitless asset.
As for reincarnation, that's for you to figure out. But always remember, becoming a beast shall be no different from our current state of defeat.

When I'm in my first world society I always notice how fragile we are and how innocent and 'weak' we are, its like we are all playing dominos or something. No matter what we do pain and suffering (emotional or physical) still exists yet we can't do anything about it but ignore it and keep building and living.

Humans are fragile, weak and so naive. We cannot solve our own problems. Redemption begins with oneself, yet we ignore the emotional barriers that stop us from being what we can. We're limited. And even if we cure ourselves, the whole human race shall not move on. We lack unity. We lack leadership.

Buddhism definitely is on to something. But the discipline and self control required to attain happiness is just so overwhelming it basically overrides basic human instincts or so we know.I envy anyone who can stick to it.

The first way of thought I was into was Buddhism. But now I align myself more with Hinduism.

All religions are virtually the same. They are just variable by a few things, but the rules are very much alike.

Sometimes.

Are we the lucky ones?

Depends.

When we die will we just be reincarnated into another horrible life or another plane of existence?

No, that is a stupid concept.

Look at Nature and how everything gets recycled. Why not souls too?

Everything that gets recycled in nature is made of matter. Souls, if they even exist, wouldn't consist of matter.

The connection that you made is illogical.

There are many, many different types of Buddhists. Which are you referring to?

Once you get into reincarnation and karma and all that shit, you've lost the actual message of Buddhism and turned it into a perverted religion like Christianity.
