Soo.. Why was NG down yesterday?

Yeah, I don't know whether or not it was just me, but I wasn't able to load NG yesterday. My browser just loaded a black page with the NG-logo.
It might be a browser problem on my notebook, because I wasn't quite able to load a few other websites either. (Wikipedia, for example.)

Now, I'm posting this from another PC, since I sent my notebook to get repaired, but maybe you guys can help clarify what seemed to be the problem?

Google Chrome
Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit SP1
Intel Atom CPU N450 @ 1,66GHz
1,00GB RAM
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150

Oh, and I have an Asus Eee PC R101. Newly bought, may have had some kind of defect.

I have a feeling that he sent his computer in for repairs that have nothing to do with the front page being blacked out.

If other websites were working, which they would have been, then any idiot would know that it is a website 'issue', and not the computer itself.

I don't know what was with you, but I went to this website yesterday and everything seemed okay. It was only for a few minutes that I was redirected to a screen that said that. Then again, I didn't go on the Internet as long as I did yesterday, so maybe for the most part, the blank page was there all day. We were just trying to play our part, although here it's probably more suitable to play games and watch movies mocking SOPA.

Yes. You nailed it there. It's actually a bug in your browser which makes certain sites inaccessible for a certain period.

It's probably because you're running on a windows computer and Internet explorer is being a bitch. It's best to go to task manager -> processes -> look up 'svchost.exe' and click 'End process'.

If you don't run on windows I don't know what the problem is. Also, if you're currently not using IE, it's best to clear your cache and move on with your life.
