yes, i am a furry, and im not ashamed to admit it. i also have some tips for my fellow furries (aka furfriends) on being a furry

Being A Furry In Public

best not to even suggest it. even a lunchbox with a cat face on it is dangerous, especially for guys. for girls, they can get away with it. age dependency is questionable. definitely should not walk around in a fursuit (fursuits discussed soon) shouting "HEY EVERYONE! IM A FURRY!". you'd be a disgrace to us and giving us a bad name.

Creating A Fursuit

try to avoid it. even how much of a furry i am, not a good idea to make a fursuit, even if you are going to a convention. my best advice on how to make a fursuit is dont.

Going To A Convention

best not to say what it really will be to your peers, unless they're furries themselves, in which case, they'll probably want to go with you. describing it as "yiff, paws and pizza" is not a good idea. you can tell the truth, but you dont have to tell which truths. you can also disguise the truths by saying something like "fantasy with potential sci-fi convention. honest opinions where none will be made fun of" is a better way of saying it. trouble starts when non-furries want to go with you.

Misconceptions Of Furries

alot of non-furries mistake us as sex-crazed fiends who want to commit bestiality. WRONG. not very many of us are. those that are... they're not normal furries. most of us are civilized people with their inner furryness as a secret. people also think that we masturbate to the art. not all of us do. alot of us appreciate the art, but not that much. many also think that we RP as anthro creatures having sex. that is also mostly wrong. ill admit that some of us actually do that, but not all of us. like i said before, most of us are civilized people. the people that actually do what most of us dont are the ones that give us a bad name. those are the people who are ballooned up and paid attention to as an 'example' of what we 'actually are'. those are the minority of us.

being a furry is not something to be ashamed of. but then again, its not something where you should go onto a rooftop and scream "IM A FURRY!" and fall of the roof and die. that gives us a bad name.

In the cases its not an art form, it is a fandom in witch people dress up in fur-suits and/ or hang out with other furries. Some of the more literary furries write fur-fictions.

If you are a furry, don't associate yourself with furries. Their reputation is already ruined beyond repair and you only harm yourself by labelling yourself as a furry. Consider yourself a fan of anthropomorphic characters or something, but never a furry. People will label you anyway but at least you don't do it yourself.
