Help! Best Place To Post? 2012-01-14 12:21:10 Reply

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to where (on the entire internet) is the best place to post a commission animation gig.

I've posted the request in both the Animation and Collab forums, I've posted it on AWN.com, as well as a couple animation forums on facebook. I'm honestly running out of ideas of where to post the commission request.

Where do people go to find an indie animator? I'm a little perplexed as to why it's been so challenging. I've never had this issue commissioning art before.

Thanks!!

Well I don't know the best place but for your motives you just be patient and wait for it. Sometimes, oppurtunities aren't very easy to catch.

and i though youd find an animator right away if you... maybe you need to offer more than 50 bucks? im puzzled, how animators appear out of thin air to help retarded sonic mario crossover idea dudes and you cant find a single person for the job

have you tried deviantart? ive heard there is comission system or something, also i recall people like zeurel accepting them. On the other hand i remember something like you pay in cash to deviant art for the comissions but the money doesnt go to the comission-ist but deviant art keeps it and give them t-shirts instead :P sounds retarded now but thats how i think it goes, not that you should care, youd pay money and get the animation just like you wanted

please confirm if deviantart works like this, im curious now, that would be too retarded

Yeah I know the price point isn't the most glamorous, but I was hoping maybe someone just starting out and looking to get involved with a project with possibility of future work might encourage someone to hop on board.

I too am a little confused about all the free collabing going on with no one willing to do potentially less work but for pay. lol

But maybe it's just a patience thing. Unfortunately since this is appearing in the second episode, if I don't find someone in the next couple weeks I'll just have to do it myself.

I will try DA too tho! Thanks!!

Well in most cases, you have to prove something for them to trust their works to you. It's like they want to know you so that they can assess while knowing them if the ones you've pick to pay or to collaborate would be worth it. It kinda suck how this system works but well this is real life. Goodluck out there.

I posted everything about the project including footage of the promo. Are you saying that we have to be friends before doing paid work?

He is saying that since 50$ isn't very enticing, there has to be more than just a business relationship to make someone want to help you. People are lazy, they need a reason to help out. Also, while there are plenty of talented artists, you are asking them to adapt to your style, and for many that makes them nervous, including me.

Thanks for the link.

In response to the othe post, I didn't dictate any style. It's a cut scene in a comedy series so the style of the cut scene (anime influenced was my thought) would actually not reflect the style of the rest of the show at all. It's their own style that they'd be bringing, hence the out sourcing.

I know the money isn't a lot, but it's 15 seconds of black and white, with potential opportunity for more work.

Anyway, I'm going to check DA tomorrow. Hopefully I can find someone in the next couple weeks. Thanks for your guys' input.

Well deviant art would certainly fit the billet quite a bit more, there are plenty of anime artists there and a lot of them are extremely good (despite drawing anime)
