Just figured i would try to start a thread about what animation programs everyone uses, from Adobe Flash* to Toon Boom*, maybe even some 3d programs? What are your experiences with any animatoin or game production programs? Whats your choice and why? :)

I use Macromedia Flash 8 to make my animations and games. Most of the coders i have worked with use a newer version. SO my saved flash file easily imports to theirs, thus creating the game. Macromedia Flash 8 is well built and powerful unless you want AS3 (actionscript 3), then go with Adobe Flash CS3 which is stable and powerful.

Thanks for the input, Keep it coming

i like to use 'Flash professional CS5.5' and 'Animate pro 2' side by side to see what their differences are, so far not too much.

I've used TVPaint before, it was a very nice program. Especially for tradition paper animation.

I use Adobe Flash CS3 at home, and Harmony Toon Boom at work. I use CS3 so i have AS3 (in case i want to get really super-involved in a game, like going through teh code and whatnot), and it's not too different from flash 8 except it works better on windows 7

Toon Boom is a nice program on its own, but harmony is so unstable. Crashes/freezes all the time and makes everyone at the studio unhappy

Sig made by me
