Reasons why Pikmin 3 is being made.

1. Fan demand:

Nintendo really does love its fans, even though it has some odd ways of showing it. Fans hated Wind Waker's graphics? Twilight reared its head. Kirby not old school enough? Return to Dreamland. DK not spending enough time in the country? DK country returns. Kid Icarus is getting a game after 20 years!

Nintendo will answer the call of cutesy RTS fans.

2. The references:

Olimar was in Super Smash Bros Brawl in 2008. Pikmin and Pikmin 2 came atleast five years before. Red, blue, and yellow Pikmin got one of 5 AR cards for the 3DS, others claimed by characters such as Mario, Link, Kirby, and Samus. Why exspose characters you aren't planning o using in the near future?

3. The technology:

The 3DS and Wii U both have touch screens. Perfect use of the technology for an RTS.

Also, you know, the fact that Nintendo confirmed that the game is in production.

They specifically said Pikmin was "a possibility" for the 3DS or Wii U. They also announced a Smash Bros, before any actual work on it had been done, so Nintendo can be tricky like that.

Speak for yourself. I really want to play the game and see what Nintendo will do with the franchise. I find his viewpoints to be fairly interesting. Just let it go.

Also, I'm almost banking on it being announced at E3 this year. Nintendo can't possibly break my heart again...

my brother is the pikmin fan in the family, we each have our games, I have kirby and metroid, he has pit and pikmin. we both share mario and zelda :3 but he's been waiting for so long for pikmin 3 and he's REALLY starting to hate nintendo for not making a pikmin 3

They never officially confirmed anything until recently, but I guess a lot things have been said that would sound like an official statement. I didn't realize they had more or less confirmed something Pikmin-ish for Wii U.
