I'm often called a smart-ass, but always wondered if there is anything really wrong with that. I remark to people in certain ways because they are usually asking dumb questions or picking on someone else.
I don't find anything wrong with it as long as you're not being sarcastic every sentence you speak.
What is your guys' opinion?

If it's done in less-serious manner then it's good
but If it's done to deliberately piss someone off then it's bad
Sarcasm and the recognition of sarcasm are essentials of satire.
Some people just have a different level of what is considered polite. If someone say's something utterly stupid and you make a smart remark, that's well understood. But if someone actually asks a good question, and you decide to be a smartass or call that person a dumbass, then you're just an asshole.
I use sarcasm all the time. Sure, it doesn't help public opinion of me, but whatever. Someone needs to point out peoples' stupidity.

That's pretty much it. It's all in the attitude of the user. An amusing, lighthearted contribution to a conversation is always going to be appreciated regardless of the language techniques used (assuming of course all parties find the joke amusing). When you start getting malicious with sarcasm however, it's a different story.

as long as the person you are speaking to is not autistic, and takes things literally, using sarcasm once in a while is good. people actually get your point fairly quickly if used appropiately, and they are given enough hints.
sarcasm is often the best way to convey your idea when you are upset about something.
Sarcasm is a tool to be used. Used for remarking idiotic statement. Like this one.

Some people I knew in high school were making sarcastic remarks quite often which became really annoying and tiring eventually.
I'd say try keeping the sarcastic remarks to a minimum and only make them with a light-hearted undertone. It's not always as funny and clever to other people and it can easily make you come over as an asshole.
Sarcasm is what people use when they think they'er being witty but aren't actually witty at all.
I know everybody dies eventually, I just hope an exception will be made in my case.

This is what I think.
Sarcasm is practical when people bother you and demand a reply. Do not use it excessively (that would also allow you to pick the most delicate sacrasm) and you'll be fine.

It's only frowned upon when being used incorrectly, like ending a post with /sarcasm.

Sarcasm in humor CAN be good, but if you're having an argument/fight then it's best to refrain from using sarcasm. Experience in life can help to judge the situation.

Sarcasm is a good thing to use to communicate and often to laugh, I really like it when girls use it.
