NOTE:I am completely new to the concept of outsourcing anything to anyone, so if this post is way off the mark please don't take it as a personal attack on your craft.
I'm currently in production of a symbol-and-FBF based flash animated series that's largely comedy-based revolving around a group of super heroes.
What I'm outsourcing (primarily because I think a different style works on a comedic level), is a cut-scene of an "anime-style" fight between a girl with a glowing sword and a normal house lamp that has been magically transformed into a snake creature with a dragon's head.
Basically the lamp is transformed, girl pulls out her sword, dodges a few strikes, and then chops off the head of the snake. Animation would be anywhere from 15-20 seconds.
No sound, no color. I'm going to handle that end. Also chafracter concepts and storyboards will be provided but since I'm not an anime specialist I'd like to leave something open to your interpretation.
It's going to be displayed at 24fps, so some denomination of that would probably work best (between 8,12 and 24), but so long as it can be exported cleanly to 24fps, it's fine. The idea was to keep the workflow in Flash, so not necessarily looking for PS animators -- though I do have PS as well so it's not off the table.
This is strictly work-for-hire. You will be credited in the episode where your animation appears.
$50.00 USD.

I also just contacted someone on the commission side who's doing full color at 10 seconds for $50, so we'll see what comes of that. My hope is that I can do as much as possible to help out the animator while still leaving the animation with a differing style than my own -- as that's the whole point of this out sourcing.
I feel confident that I'll have someone I'm happy with by the end of the week.

Okay, so now the commission person is giving me 15 seconds at $50.
The nice thing about this process is that even if you don't hire some people, it's nice building a rapport with young animators whose skill you might be able to utilize at a later date. I'm making sure that anyone who does not get the job knows that there will almost certainly be possibilities of future work.
One of the things I'm doing in the series, is that when the characters in the show are, say, watching TV, the show they're watching are based on my various friends' indie comic properties. It's a neat way to advertise for your friends while also letting them see a bit of what it would look like if their characters were animated. And, of course, then whatever is showing on the TV isn't exclusively parody (which is kind of done to death in animation).
But yeah, things are going well. Thanks again guys!
