Is the Wacom Cyntiq Tablet series effective when doing stuff in Flash, i.e. FBF, games, etc? If so, what PC spec would be effective for such projects? And what Cyntiq tablet and why?
It's because I want to evolve from the mouse and mousepad, and draw directly onto the screen as I think it'll be much better for me.
Any opinions?

Cintiq for flash is overkill. Get a bamboo or something.

I just checked out the Wacom Bamboo Tablet. It seems alright, but I prefer to have a LCD screen so I can directly draw on it. How does Cyntiq overkill Flash? Is there reported problems? I heard that the Cyntiq has pressure sensitive if that's what you mean by overkilling Flash. Does Cyntiq have pressure sensitive settings?

He means you could buy something cheaper and still be fine. I got a Bamboo from Amazon for like $50 without shipping, and used Cintiqs are like $700 minimun. Bamboo and Cintiq are both pressure sensitive.

Most of us don't even get as far as actually learning Flash, wouldn't be very wise to spend $1k+ on it.

I'm not sure I understand how me possibly buying a Cintiq could be a stupid decision. Pen to screen instead of Pen to tablet and looking at the screen at the same time would be comfortable for me.
I have a fair bit of knowledge of Flash so I'd say it would be worth it for my future projects.

How well do you draw with your mouse? Years back I bought a tablet (two, actually) and they've been collecting dust since. Personally I just feel a lot more control with a mouse. Almost as though I'm holding a pen with a long flat part for better control. It's not a golden tool from the gods, sadly.
So I'd suggest testing the waters first before shelling out for something high-end. Just the same as how most guitarist start with low-end gear before shelling out for something top-dollar. Worst case scenario you'll have an extra tablet, or a nice gift for someone.

Give me money, I want a cintiq.
Just kidding
Unless you actually can give me money
You look nice today.
This guy brutally sodomizes me.
Cereal is pretty cool. If you're cool you'll add me on Steam. Also, Letterboxd.

Hmm, I'd say I can draw quite well with a mouse, but I think I can do a lot better with the LCD tablet. For example, on my 3DS I have the Nintendo Letter Box and I doodle some random things, which takes me much less time to draw something in black and white than it would do with a mouse.
I did some artwork and a little animation for Zictor's Madness Day entry a few months back, but took HOURS just to come up with the artwork and much Ctrl-Zing. All with the mouse. But in the end, me and him left it a little late and decided to upload it next Madness Day.
My room at the present moment hasn't got any room for computer desks for me to use a proper mouse mat either, so I'm referring to using the mouse on my bed using a book as a substitute for a mouse mat, which does work, but kinda aches my hand for a while. I'll be moving out (hopefully) to my friend's house in which the spare room is much bigger, plenty of room for a new PC, desk and a LCD tablet. But I'm moving out for other personal reasons mainly.
I have a feeling that the tablet in mind will help me back on the track of inspiration to create again really.

the intuos 4 should be more precise than the small cintiq ive heard. so you should only buy a cintiq if you really feel avoiding the tablet-to-screen feel is worth the extra money

HappyHarry tweeted awhile ago saying how much he hated the new top of the line cintiq, he was trying to sell it, despite paying like 3000 pounds for it.
heres his tweet:
Cintiq 24HD is a disappointment as it really isn't suited to animation (does not accomodate keyboard in work mode). Anyone wanna buy it?
None

I have a Cintiq. It sucks. It's bulky and slow.

Hmm... interesting. I may have to message HappyHarry to get his full beef with the 24HD. Unless someone has a link to his full beef they can kindly provide?
I did ring the Wacom people and was put through to the technical support. They explained that they test all Adobe products, including Flash, on the 24HD, as well as other programs open as well, but the guy stressed that the thing is basically a monitor and everything projected is a result of the computer's performance (well, okay, that makes sense, to me anyway). Also DVI or HDMI is preferrable to VGA output apparently otherwise things wouldn't display well. Anyway, that's what I got from the call. I did notice on the official website that there's updates for certain problems mentioned in the forums, e.g. opening up Flash but crashing apparently, there was an update driver for that.
As for bulk, I'm ready to buy a big enough desk to have room to work on as well as having a new computer on there too, but I am also carefully looking at PCs and Laptops for specific outputs, reasonably powerful enough RAM already installed and decent enough GHz processor.
I've seen a couple of youtube vids of some guy's animation cycles as well as Max Gilardi's dog animation (from Northern Lights), both people using a cintiq and from what I've seen I'm impressed.
Sod it, I'll see what HappyHarry says.
