Hey guys.

Firstly, lemme just welcome myself to the community. It's always been a pleasure joining into a forum for the first time, but I'd much rather introduce myself with something relevant than to just post a "Hi guys" thread somewhere (No offence to anyone who has. :P)

Anyway, a reason for this maybe?

One of my biggest problems in my life has been my inability to draw... Probably from both mild dysgraphia and ADD. I'll get to work on something, and if it doesn't look like an absolute mess, I'll probably end up just getting some form of "Artists block".

So I'll give all of my creative imagery to you guys.

Anyway, here's my idea for you guys:
Imagine a huge machine, powered by an immense generator that takes up pretty much the whole facility, just to power one machine that a man is inside; his purpose is to split his spirit into multiple forms then to put those into seperate bodies so that he can essentially clone himself (But on some much more sinister fantasy/sci-fi level)
It could be any era that you want, it's your artwork.

I'm collecting some ideas for a Video Game idea that I might be working on in the future, so I would give credit where it's due if it ever reached final stages, unless you guys say otherwise.

Thanks for all an any input, and once again, it's good to be a part of the community. :)

P.S. I would post my own here as an example, but I lack the required tools to do so.. When the scanner comes I'll put my own up, I promise.

You seem to have an artists block either by lack of attention, or a possible lack of skill.
Getting somebody else to draw your images for you isn't the way to get over it - actually you will start relying on other people as a crutch.

Grab a pencil and paper, get focused, and get sketching.
Doesn't have to be the idea you've presented here, it could be something simpler that you could do in 15 minutes.
Check out some existing pics by accomplished painters if you're in need of some inspiration.

Oh, don't worry I have sketches, I'm just in a bit of a problem where much better, more detailed pictures come in.

I do have my own sketches, but I thought it might be nice to see some alternative influences from other frames of mind, you know?

Anyway, I should be getting a scanner today, so expect some slightly-edited-to-make-pencil-lines-dar ker scetches.

Here are the pictures I attempted to do myself, the object with the red ring around it is the actual vessel, using a beam to ionize the gasses of the (gas) planet below, before beaming that energy back into itself in a constant loop... This powers the object to the right (Yes, I messed up ridiculously considering they were meant to be hexagons, but this just happens..) Hope you get the idea.

*holds his head with his hands*

I....I'm just confused. You go from talking about artists' block and then to "giving us your creative imagery", concluding that you're collecting ideas for a video game....?
Isn't what you're doing the exact same thing your contraption does, shooting ideas into the wild and catching them as they come back.

I...just...what? I don't understand what you are looking for. Throw me a bone here.

I just wanted to show you guys what I had so far, with the intention of putting it into a video game.

What I want from you guys is to see if you could perhaps put it into a better detail...? Perhaps put your own ideas in?

The reason I'm asking you guys is because I think everything that goes into a game is important: Music, imagery, and of course, story and gameplay...

Since you're all from a sort of video games background as artists (At least I'd assume so.) I thought I'd like to see a few different ideas for it... That way I can get an overall picture of what the pictures should actually look like in terms of style, looks and feel as well as colours you guys would think would be appropriate.

I like to think of myself as giving you guys as much free space as possible, hence the lack of a structured reasoning behind this...

Welcome to the forum then!

Now that (I hope that) I got what you want, I can see where you are coming from. Getting inspired by other artists' interpretations can result in pretty interesting concepts.

I can also understand why you don't want to give too many details, to avoid restrictions on creativity. BUT you might need to first inspire other artists with your idea. If they don't "catch fire" from your description or sketches, they are less likely to start their own designs.

I don't want to come across all negative, I just think more examples could help your project. The hexagon ball thing looks like a nice idea and it's something people can build upon. Of course, if you feel like not showing more of your own designs to let others think of their own, you could always share some other details. Like the setting of the story, the "style" of the machines or generally the technology level.

Finally I don't want to make you expect too much, the forums are slow due to the new year's day. And generally it's not easy to find someone to join such an ambitious project straight away.

Either way, good luck with your project!

This is exactly what I needed to hear.

Well the setting is set in the future, where mankind's dominance has taken over most of the galaxy. The main character and villain are both from the same planet, though one of them's the good guy and the other one's an exiled pirate lord.

Now, the guy who's big spaceship that is is the pirate lord's, Nox Mepharius. He plans to use the combination of magic that his homeworld users were accustomed to (Not gunna give too much away.) and the advanced quality of the black market science division.

Without explaining who the Pirates are, they're basically how they were in "ye olde pirates of the carribean age" but much much bigger, given the scale of the galaxy. They've formed what are known as PCR's (Pirate Corporation Republic) which use fake or corrupt corperations or even planets and terrorizes the habitual population.

---

That's all you're getting for now, I hope it helps spark some interest to anyone else who reads this. :P

What are you doing for this game? The art? Do you know how to code?

Okay, so I can probably understand that I might've offended some of you by requesting this?

But please understand that I did this merely as a way for artists on here to find something to inspire them, or perhaps even something that they could draw that was awesome to add to their gallery.

I added my own drawings to give you a vague idea for it, what it's actually meant to do is fire a beam down into a gas planet, ionizes the gasses close to the core, then uses it to power the generator inside for the experiment.

Clear and simple; just draw what I've got here as an idea, it doesn't have any rules to it just do what you feel is best in your own way. I'm looking to see some really cool ideas from some really cool guys...

Again, I apolagise for anyone who's found this upsetting in any way.

I don't think you offended anyone. It's just generally difficult to find someone to join such a project.

To be honest, your chances are much higher, if you post more of your own designs or sketches and get tips from other people. And maybe someone even picks it up and adds to it. At the moment, it seems very unlikely that someone will do it, seeing as nobody posted yet. It's all about giving others an incentive to join in. There is none yet unfortunately.
