The only autistic I ever knew growing up was actually pretty retarded, I think he's 18 or something now and still can't tie his shoes and can only write his name. So my perception of autism is completely skewed and I have no idea what it means anymore.

Someone like him should be coddled, because he obviously is unable to care for himself. But the skinny, nerdy, socially awkward kids that are diagnosed as "autistics" nowadays? Coddling does more damage than good, in my opinion.

I'm sure you could know this because autism is something that sets in later in life so you could notice the difference

Autism is an umbrella term for multiple disorders that are similarly symptomatic. There are varying degrees of Autism and you may have contact with people diagnosed with types of Autism and you don't even know it.

I will say that I'm tired of every socially awkward kid all of a sudden being diagnose with Aspergers syndrome. Many of them are just fucking looking for an excuse to have a disability. There are also Doctors that use it as their "go to" when dealing with children. Kind of like how everyone in my generation that had any kind of problem in school was immediately tested and "diagnosed" with ADHD.

There's a severely autistic kid in my government class this year, and he's SO FUCKING ANNOYING. The teacher can't even say anything without the kid laughing like "HUHH HUH HUHUHUH HUH HUHH". And he fucking claps and laughs when he thinks what the teacher said is REALLY funny.

He constantly rats everyone out for doing little things. All he does is hang around teachers and annoy the shit out of them, while they can't do anything about it because it would be rude. I hate him and I hate autistic kids. I don't care if it's not their fault because they can't control it, it doesn't make them good people.

There will never be a future where proper social contact is not at least as important as the work you do. Think about it. Here's a scenario.

The local car mechanic working for minimum wage? He's a fucking genius with moving parts. He could easily be one of the most valued employees in the entire company. But what's keeping him down?
