Seth Macfarlane was never funny

And for whatever reason, I felt the need to make a BBS thread about it regardless of the fact that this is only an opinion as opposed to a fact. I find that most people that do this are simply trying to welcome angry reactions or a flame war to the BBS for their own amusement. This sort of thing depresses me.

And also he has a half-ass way of inserting non-sequitor jokes that are completely irrelevant to the current situation

I don't find him funny at all. I think he is one of the most overrated pesonalities in animation. He is racist and disrespectful towards Christians and the things of God and the Bible.

Does it depress you that regardless of what you intended, this thread is pretty much a provacation that will entice users to post those aforementioned "angry reactions"?

Really, the "Seth Macfaralane Was Never Funny" pretty much contradicts what the rest of your thread is about and very clearly points to hypocrisy.

I view Family Guy as sort of a guilty pleasure. It's nothing but cheap laughs, but I like to watch anyway.

Sometimes I just leave it on for background noise.

Actually, I disagree with this, as I have recently been taught that I simply didn't 'get' the distasteful jokes that were cut and pasted right into the script and dragged on for far too long in order to fill the 23-minute block.

Preeeeeecisely. Many NGers only read the subject line, and when they agree/disagree with the opinion, they post without reading the body. Family Guy I can still enjoy it, but the cut away jokes and liberal Brian just makes me like it less.

American Dad I have always loved. I love the government jokes and the set-up as well. It pokes fun at Republican conservatives and the Democratic liberals. It was just great and still is. Yeah there are some episodes that can get a little preachy at times, but overall it is quite funny, especially the character Roger.

The Cleveland Show is stupid, but I believe it to be justified for this reason as a parody of spin-off shows. Also it's got Tim the Bear and I fucking love Tim.

I only watch Family Guy as something in the background of my other activities when I'm ridiculously bored. I still never laugh out loud. It's just ever so mildly entertaining. I tried the Cleveland show once, it was so awful.

I remember seing a pilot for a show called "larry and steve" from the 90s that had a peter like character and a brian like character that was pretty funny (no cutaways), Family Guy was good 2 or so years ago, and American Dad is still funny.

At least it doesn't happen as much in American Dad or Cleveland show, which are arguably better shows.

South Park is timeless cause it makes fun of everything. No one gets left out of their parodical flame.

Family Guy, while it has it's moments, has a one-sided liberal view of everything. Mostly because of Brian, which, if you haven't already realized it by now, IS Seth Macfarlane put into his own show.

I think after a while of watching the same message being delivered each episode it gets kind of stale.

I noticed in the past few months Macfarlene speaks through Brian alot and turned his character from laid back and smart to arrogant preachy and pretentious.

American Dad is the true Family Guy to me. At least in American Dad the stories and jokes are slightly more interesting. I mean when you think about it it's a wonder how they made their Star show that's just based around some normal (for the most part) Caucasian family so entertaining for 10+ years and dying.
