What is wrong with cosplay? Do people find it cool or attractive? You can't look like a video game at all, and some of it meant to be cute just... turns me off. So why do people like it?

Can't say I don't at least somewhat get it. For the most part, however, the people doing it are having fun, and who can fault them for that?

Now don't judge people just because they like Pikachu to the albeit unhealthy point that they decide "I should dress up as one." It's all in good fun.

Because it's fun pretend. You can't deny the fun it is to dress and act like your favorite hero or fiction icon, surrounded by people doing the same where they might only not judge you, but even enjoy and support it.

I've seen some good ones. I agree though, bad ones are atrocious to look at. Especially closet cosplays.

Pretty much this, there are good ones and bad ones but I don't think some people care about if they look good or not, they are doing it because they enjoy it and why not, it's harmless.

I dressed up as finn for halloween and I saw a girl who dressed up as princess bubblegum and she was looking pretty good.

I think it's okay to dress up for conventions as well and people have fancy dress parties, but really, they are just clothes, I wouldn't have a problem with people dressing up everyday if they wanted to, it doesn't hurt anyone.

I only tend to like cosplay when it's a girl wearing a skimpy outfit. Otherwise I have no care or positive reaction towards it whatsoever.

Yeah there are some really shitty cosplay out there. I like cosplaying mostly because its another excuse to just dress up in public that isn't halloween. It's just fun to be something else for a day and not really get made fun of for it.
