I just don't understand the system here.

If you are banned, it says posting with Alts will get you banned or deleted. But then, you can post with an alt and the Mods do not have a clue. I assume only the Admins can see your IP address, not the Mods. I understand invasion of privacy, but if the Mod can't see you IP, then generally this punishment is ineffective.

It's not something that they can actually enforce. I always post on my alt (this acct.) when I get banned. Actually this is becoming my main.

Mods are capable of seeing your IP address. How else would they be able to enforce the rule of refraining from posting on one's alt while banned?

the most I have ever seen is someone getting 30 days ban for posting on an alt account

that deletion rule is only enforced when you make a new alt just to get around your ban and even then they dont delete your main, just the alt (if it is new enough anyway)

personally i have alts so that I can pm myself :)

i am guessing that both admins and forum mods can see your IP address, and both your alts and main will be banned from posting if you try to get around the ban.

i actually saw that happening a few times, when there wasn't enough information or clues to tell whether a said poster had been using his alt during the ban just by looking at the posts.

They just check the IP address, I thought this was pretty damn common knowledge. It's not like they use magic. Or just lie to you in the hopes that you'll be too intimidated by a possible ban.

Technically it's a measure that's completely easy to get around, but most people are dumbfucks and should enjoy their bans.
