3.93 / 5.00 4,634 ViewsHey guys so I wrote this up, if anybody wants to help make it a reality that would be amazing.
The gameplay would be 4th with a reticule to match the sites of whatever gun you're using that will sway and move, more if the the character is moving, less with more accurate weapons.
Meet the protagonist: A grizzled yet underwhelming bad-ass Nam' vet who doesn't know the cold war ended, Homer Pyle has made his home in Alaska so he can see the enemy from his house. One of the most efficient killers the marines could've hoped to produce, at the loss of his sanity he's a psychotic recluse who's lost his place in the world, until the"Red Dawn" finally invades his small town. He lives with his German Shepard "Panzer" in a beat up cabin on the edge of civilization that comes equipped with a bomb shelter, a watchtower, a weapons collection that has fallen into complete disrepair, and trophies of past(and future) conquest.
The "Red Dawn" as Homer calls it, is actually just his delusional knee-jerk reaction to a zombie apocalypse, which had a good start at devastating local infrastructure. The goal of the game is pure survival, with the option to save the town and integrate, defending them in a last stand battle, or become self sufficient in your own domicile and watch the world burn. In order to survive, you must defend yourself and your home from the zombie hordes with the help of your dog, who becomes a zombie if he's taken, but remains loyal to you even in death and helps you fight off the horde by attacking smaller enemies and stunning or distracting larger enemies, with a priority of stopping anything from entering the house.
The zombie horde would attack from all angles of the forested landscape surrounding the home base, and come directly for the player by breaking through the fence or walking around to the entrance. It is imperative that the player kill as many zombies as possible before they reach your rickety-picket-fenced lawn, as the more zombie blood on it, the bigger and badder the enemies will get.
Once a week, the player gets to play a mini-game wherein he cuts the grass and some zombies to pieces with his riding mower. There is no death here, just a mower that needs to be fixed, a partially cut lawn that absorbs blood and can conceal small enemies, and a lack of extra cash from the zombies you'll mow down.
Have I won you yet? This is where it gets good.
To get all the supplies needed for apocalypse survival, Homer and Panzer must head to the last stand anybody knows about, the ruins of New Haven. There are still a few establishments that are servicing the survivors: "We Got Gas" Gas Station, the new general store, "Slavos Gulag", an underground weapons dealer using zombie slave labor, "Heavy Metal", a reclaimed auto shop fortified with car chassis, and Mickey Finns Irish Pub where you will find precious alcohol (if you can afford it) and various other narcotics, along with the remnants of the military, with whom you can can sell items, trade in scalps, and purchase mercenaries and some specialty items
To get there, you and your best buddy hop in your beat-ass truck and maneuver around zombies and moving debris to reach the safety of town. Any damage to your car will have to be repaired for cash or it will eventually break down on the way, leaving you stranded and up against an endless horde of zombies while you periodically whack your engine until it turns on, leaving you with very little room for error if you get to drive again.
I'm thinking of a few unique missions too, like after the first week you run out of your prescriptions and you have to run to raid the over-run hospital for your old-person pills, stylish stuff.

Dude, it's a zombie survival game, bout as basic as it gets.
I wrote it up in like 30 minutes, originally it was based on this new flash artist's game, but then I just made it my own.
I was tasking myself: Make an original flash over the head zombie shooter
It was so rushed, I even forgot to add the house advancements x)
That's a terrible concept for a game. The last thing this world needs is zombies.
Can you feel it mister Krabs?
Wait... You can get with-draws from zoloft?
FFFFFUUUU
I like waffles
you can use your lawn mower to conceal enemies?
QOTW:
"I hate you because you never pass up and opportunity to mention that you are a "female"-Wreckr
How to review like your opinion matters
Meh.
But you know, I'm really surprised that a zombie survival game hasn't been made yet. I know that there's games like Dead Rising that involve zombies and are sort of open ended, but there hasn't been a game that just plunks you down in the middle of a city as an ordinary person and makes survival the only goal. I'd like to see a very open ended game like that.
