I'll give anything a chance, but i've never really gotten into manga. would those kind of files work on a kindle though?
Dune. The Hobbit. Lord of the Rings. A Clockwork Orange.
Etc etc
Try "A child called it" .
It's middle school level so it might be a quick read for you.
For Intellectual books: Anything by Jules Verne
For Horror: ANything by Poe or Stephen King
For Adventure: The Hunger Games series by Susan Collins
For Fantasy: The Xanth series by Pierce Anthony
For Sci-Fi: Don't read much so can't help there.
Hope I helped somehow.
"You're a bit of a ghoul - aren't you?"---ZeroAsALimit.
Yea, I farm Anal Penguins. Do something about it.
A song of Ice and Fire series(or anything by George R.R. Martin), BattleField Earth, Altered Carbon, Enders Game, Wheel Of Time series.
What type of book are you looking for?
Authors to look up: Daniel Pinchbeck, Amit Gosswami, Rupert Sheldrake.
The sig that I'm wearin? Awesomely made by Skaren!
Also, I like annoying Americans by calling English football "real football" and American football "rugby".-Lost-Chances

Okay. For manga I would recommend Naruto, Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist and The Legend Of Zelda manga series'.
Slaughter-House Five by Kurt Vonnegut is my personal favorite. You could check that one out.
Sig by ??? - AMA
Formerly PuddinN64 - Portal, BBS, Icon, and Chat Mod
"Your friends love you anyway" - Check out WhatTheDo & Guinea Something Good!
For non fiction, The Greatest Show on Earth by Richard Dawkins is pretty good if you want to learn a bit about evolution/natural selection. His book The God Delusion is also good. Cosmos by Carl Sagan is also a very acclaimed book about astronomy and space, I've only just started it myself, but others rave about it, and you just have to love Carl Sagan.
For fiction i'd recommend Trainspotting (Irvine Welsh), Rendezvous With Rama (Arthur C. Clark), Haunted (Chuck Palahniuk) and Fight Club (Chuck Palahniuk).

Cats Cradle is a great book by him, too. I wasn't into Timequake much, though.
Breakfast of Champions is the best, for the drawings alone!

Poe is for brooding pubescent shits who think they're smarter than everyone else.
Read Lovecraft. He was a fan who greatly improved Poe's style.
Lovecraft is Ftw. Poe is FtM.

But I'm a fan of both...

I liked Cask of Amontillado. There is really no problem with Poe, I just find him awfully tame.

Go out and buy some. Too stingy for that? Go to a library and borrow them!
I'm more into non-fiction. but uh, im pretty open with the range of books I will read
Alright, if you must do it the heathen way, go and download these:
Conn Iggulden - Khan: Wolf of the Plains
David Gemmell - Legend
Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman - Good Omens
Robert Rankin - Nostradamus Ate My Hamster
James Clavell - Shogun
Those should get you started, as some of them are based on true events (Shogun, Wolf of the Plains), while others just poke a bit of fun.
The novelization of Santa Clause Conquers The Martians.
I LIKE MONEY
Read this book called "The Dark Side of Nowhere". It may be hard to find, but I read it when I was younger and it always stuck with me. It is about a town full of people who are secretly not from this world, and the parents try to convince their children they are normal humans.
For I am and forever shall be... a master ruseman.
Conquestadors! It's a beautifully written none fictional book on 16th century Spain and the voyage to the New World!
I would recommend the fiction book 'Sphere', it's a classic and the movie does not do it justice.
The Road
Blood Meridian
No Country for Old Men
Catch 22
Cat's Cradle
All science fiction.
