Love is an emotional bond between two people. It spurs from one being able to relate to someone or having a relationship with them. This bond is unique to each and every person you love yet never differs. Think about why you love your brother or mother or father, now think about why you love your girlfriend. If the two reasons aren't the same, you're doing something wrong. It usually is something that takes time because you need to be able to understand the people you love and strengthen that bond.

This makes sense, but some people do not have a love like this with their immediate family, they have abusive relationships with them instead, so this can unfortuanetly translate to a couples relationship.

Romantic love or family/brotherly love? For me there's a distinct difference.

Romantic love is a strong friendship coupled with attraction. Family love seems to be based mostly on familiarity.

read the bible, specifically what jesus did for us, then you'll know what love is. you may not believe in jesus, but even reading it as a "fairy tale" or however you interpret religion, there is some deep truth in it. everything else is just bullshit perpetuated by your environment.

Ah love, it can seem so far yet it can be within reach, it can mean so little or it could be the most important and emotional word you spoke. Love has so many uses, so many meanings, so many reactions and so many emotions.
