I Hate Christmas.

Like the songs piss me off, my family pisses me off, the only good thing about it is giving and receiving presents to your friends.
I also hate lying to children so there has been the rare occasion I let it slip about Jolly Saint Nick. Then the anger of everyone around me ensues......

I love Christmas songs even though I am generally not that into Christmas. Its just the build up and the cost and the queues in shops and on the roads that annoy me. But come Christmas Day I still think it's rather lovely. Being surrounded by family. Sharing gifts together. Having a lovely roast. And just having fun and laughing. It's good.

While I do agree the music is terrible, Christmas is an amazing time of year. I honestly prefer the holidays in the summer because I dislike winter, but that doesn't mean Christmas is terrible.

I hate listening to the same Christmas songs over and over, and having to put up with hearing a flavour-of-the-week singer sing a re-recorded version of an old carol they made just to squeeze a few bucks out of the tradition, but I get to see my extended family and go to some parties and get free shit, so I'm pretty pleased about it.

What you're describing is the american commercializing of Christmas. I hate it, too. They do it with every other holiday.

I found I started appreciating Christmas a lot less when we stopped making macaroni shit in school and I had to start buying gifts.

I'm not a big fan of christmas this year either, I however don't wish to drag others down with me, in fact I put on a fake smile and tell everyone I'm alright so they can enjoy their holiday because they don't deserve to feel my pain.

Simple, there's not bullshit. All there is is good food and loved ones, I think all holidays should be that way.

Christmas is about similar aspects, but the whole commercial aspect is sickening, especially considering what Christmas is supposed to be about (Jesus right?).

Yeah, there's a difference between not liking christmas and being an asshole.
