So America needs to be more solar friendly. According to Howcast, California, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania offer renewable energy incentives that make a conversion to solar worthwhile.
So I hope we can get it more expanded throughout the US! Solar power is a good alternative. We also need to drive more hybrids.

The best places for solar power would either have to be really hot (solar energy to generate steam for turbines), or really cold (solar panels work best in the cold).
Solar panels are a bitch of a price to pay for replacing electricity, but worth it I suppose.

The environmental effect that it takes to manufacture the batteries for any vehicle: hybrid, electric or otherwise does more damage to the environment than a car can do within it's lifetime.

Solar power has its benefits, as well as its faults, but it does sound like a decent idea.
Just think if they put solar panels on your cell phone, you wouldn't have to really charge it up except at night.
