Dilemma (duration of a movie?) 2011-12-16 10:38:19 Reply

Hey ya,

I'm working on a flash movie right now and I think it is a little bit too long (more than 10 minutes). I'm affraid that people who's watching it will be bored before the end.

In your opinion, should I split it up in two parts of 5-6 minutes or keep it going up in only one long movie?

I think you should make it 10, but with the ability to pause it. And, of course, have some plot twists every couple of minutes (2, 3) to that people keep on watching it, even if it's not that good.

Don't listen to my above side. He doesn't know what he's talking about.

What he means are interesting points in your story that make the viewer excited with anticipation at what might happen next.

Also, perhaps you should add in a scene selector? That way if people don't want to watch it all in one sitting, they can select the scene they left off at next time.

Doesn't matter how long it is, as long as it's good. You might want to consider going back and removing any unnecessary parts from your movie that don't support the story.
