It's an obviously bad idea, as steroids shrink the male genitals, increase cholesterol levels dramatically, makes the person using the drug enraged frequently, etc. etc.
And the worst thing about it is that ceasing the use of the drug makes one's strength diminish to levels that are unnaturally low. I know this only counts as anecdotal evidence, but I once saw a video about steroids, which showed a bodybuilder who used the drug bench pressing 700+ lbs(317kg+). A couple of years after he stopped using steroids, he was unable to lift even 25 lbs. It was sad, really.

Pretty much. If I'm not mistaken, this is why it occurs:
Steroids is testosterone, and your body realizes that. If you're a male who's taking it, your testicles will shrink because the body is trying to prevent itself from having too much testosterone in the bloodstream...
And, well...if and when you cease steroid abuse, your body keeps the balls at a very small size.
I don't know...you might want to confirm this somewhere...I may be wrong.

Go a more natural road and stick to things such as Creatine if you need an extra kick. Using roids will give you a gross ogre body and a big muscle gut. If you want to really look good don't use roids. Arnold and Franco Columbu didn't and they look 100x than modern bodybuilders.

I was considering it, too. Just doing one cycle (or whatever the period you're on them for is called) as an added boost, as I've got fuck all muscle to work with right now anyway (I weigh something like 57kg -.-). I've heard it's expensive shit, though, and I'd just worry about the damage it'd be doing to my body considering my hypochondriac state of mind.
Gonna have to just go eau natural. Or, something like that.

I dunno, it seems like my lonely option left to get strong, not really interested in the looks part. I have a inability to gain muscle mass, maybe its bad genes or something from my fat ass relatives, I have tried everything from every diet to gym memberships to p90x to jogging and its a no go.

I should tell you now that jogging doesn't really help increase muscle mass, which is why you never see buff people running long distance events in the Olympics or anything like that.
Just try to increase the amount of protein in your diet significantly. Subsequently, work out, and do it right. There is a wrong way to work out, you know. Maybe you're doing it wrong.
You should make sure that your workout is being done correctly. You should never have to resort to steroid usage.

I dunno, I don't know much about steroids, but if there was ever serious research done into it I'm sure there'd be a balance where someone could responsibly take steroids for a certain period of time without having a serious impact on their physiology and body chemistry.
That being said, until the day comes when a safe procedure for steroid use is outlined in a way I can understand and adapt to myself I don't want to turn myself into the guinea pig for it. Besides, part of body building is improving yourself on your own. I think the feeling of satisfaction you get because you put on so many pounds of muscle on your own is greater than knowing it only happened because you shot yourself full of steroids.

I would never use steroids, because they have an infinite level of bad side effects. There's things like fits of rage, not to mention HALLUCINATION, as well as breasts being grown on men, becoming bald, liver damage, reduced testicle size, cancer, poor stimulation of growth in bones (usually in younger people), and severe acne. It sounds like you're better off smoking crack to make yourself stronger. I bet crack is still safer than steroids.

Unless you plan on doing competitive weight-lifting sometime soon, don't bother doing steroids. They will get you strong and fuckin' huge.
On the other hand, if you don't cycle correctly you will only be hurting yourself. Furthermore, if you don't consistently lift hard in the gym before, during, and after your cycles you won't keep the physique.
Try out some pro hormones if you want something similar to steroids. They are basically the precursor to 'roids, but just as good.

If you are looking to gain muscle mass you've gotta lift using the proper tact. As a general rule, if you can lift it 8 times or more you need to add more weight. For bicepts i typically curl 70 lbs 4 times each arm, then move up to 75 and do 3 sets of 6 lifts per arm thrice a week.
i'm getting paid to pester you all muwhahaha
