Hey NewGrounders, I had a number of things I was planning to do today, considering that today is my 1st year anniversary as a NewGrounds member, but one of which won't make the cut today.
To compensate for time (hope I'm using this phrase right, lol) I had a proposition to create a challenge for those interested.
The challenge is this: make a cover or remix of Yetit Petit from Ragnarok Online (video with the closet quality to the original; impressive quality at 360p, don't really hear the need to go to 480p). I did a cover of it, but since I didn't know much about mixing or mastering back then, it's not as "in-your-face" as it could've been.
The instructions/rules to the challenge are within the cover's author's comments. So just read that. Covers and/or remixes are allowed. I'm really looking for something that says "hey, I might get hired by SoundTeMP" or "SoundTeMP would love the impression I made on this!"
The winner that sounds closest to the original sound (bonus points for not ripping it to your project!), will receive tim-tams from me (ohai, communitychannel), or something like that.
This thread is both reserved for comments/questions and submissions! The contest starts today, and ends at midnight of the December 21st (12:00 AM, Eastern Time, USA; that's about 30 days, amigo!).
I'll be sure to announce the winner(s) as soon as I can, and if I don't, consider all of you winners in your own way (as you very well should anyway!).
I chose Yetit Petit, because it's played in a cold snowy place in Ragnarok Online, to better complement this season!

Have fun, and happy holidays to all!
Disclaimer: if this contest conflicts with NewGrounds forum policies, the audio golden children have my blessing to freeze this thread, or they can suggest means that would better adhere to the policies.

For great justice, this is the first and last bump I'll ever take off.

That song has almost nothing to do with the holidays other than sounding like a winter track. Couldn't you have picked a more known holiday classic?
Can you feel it mister Krabs?

I could have chosen a song like this, but I felt that if Chronamut wanted Dec.'s NAC to use holiday music, or be based around an actual holiday tune, I didn't want this challenge to conflict with that.
Thanks for the input, tho.
