I recently started dating this girl, but she only has her period every 2 months instead of one... im curious as to what problems and what this causes. i know its not normal. can someone with more medical whatnot and knowledge help?

It's pretty common for periods to not be on a perfect schedule for the first few years. Less periods could also be from lots of exercise or not eating enough. Mine were very sporadic and a doctor finally tested me and found out I didn't produce enough of a certain hormone. She wanted me to take it in pill form but I'd rather not bleed.

its probably because she is atheletic and shes burning off to much and giving out a lot of energy to the things shes doing, if its not a bad thing at all..But if shes concerned she can ask a doctor for more information.
