I don't understand this weaboo crap

I'll get to the point, I like anime, and manga. i've come to understand some japanese culture from that.

So someone accused me of being a weaboo or whatever that is. Now I thought it was someone who tried to become japanese no matter what and denounced all of their upbringing and country, just to be japanese.

Now was this guy an idiot or what is the definition of weaboo?

It's a made up word, so people make up different definitions. I use weeaboo to describe anyone who likes anime. To defend themselves from being called a weeaboo, a made up word, weeaboos made up a definition; someone who thinks Japan and Japanese things are superior to everything else.

So to a normal person, a weeaboo is someone who likes anime
To an anime fan, a weeaboo is someone who is crazy about Japan

Though it's not a real word, so no one should give a real fuck.

Irrelaphant called me a weaboo once due to my profile picture.
It's pretty much just a guy or girl obsessed with Japanese culture.

Well i don't mind anime, so long as it's not that corny romance crap. But really it's pretty offensive just calling someone a weeaboo instead of someone who likes anime.

"A negative term directed to anyone overly obsessed with Japanese culture to the point where they become annoying."

So you can like anime, that's fine. I don't mind a bit of it.
But if you start posting anime pictures everywhere and eating and breathing it, then you're a weaboo.
